Probably won't be any vampire lords, but Werewolf builds are really good. A decent werewolf build can get up to 50k dps average, the best can probably go between 60-70k.
Also, aside from increased magicka and stamina regeneration, and an on command lifesteal skill and mobility skill, Vampires aren't particularly suited for Necromancers anyway, unless you intend to run that Necromancer as a tank of sorts.
Supernatural Recovery, Rank 2 gives +10 magicka and stamina regeneration.
Undeath, Rank 1 causes you to take 33% less damage when you drop below 30% hp, and Rank 2 does the same, but at 50% instead of 30%.
So, clearly optimal for a tank build. I'd say, if you want your Necromancer to be more on the solid side, it couldn't hurt. There's not much of a downside, minus slower natural hp regeneration, a weakness to fire, and visible changes to your character as your condition advances towards stage 4.

Stage 4 Vampirism isn't the prettiest thing, and some people really don't care for the aesthetic changes it makes to their character, understandably.
I don't mind the way it looks either, I actually like it.
Werewolf timed is not so bad when you get it up there, but it's still a bummer.
I have another toon that's a Werewolf that kills on DPS.
If you choose the Pack Leader route, your timer will extend everytime a new wolf is summoned. Your timer also extends a little when you get hit as well. And you can morph pounce to extend the timer too. As an added bonus, if you can find another few players who are also Werewolves, and you all transform together, a kind of "pack mentality" will set in, and your timer will reduce much slower (-80% the original) and make it where you're wolfed out much longer.
Very tanky for a "DPS form" too. Just keep in mind, that Werewolves, because they have no taunt, and can't make use of weapon and armor passives or procs, are either best suited for solo, PVP, or in a group with over Werewolves.
A group of Werewolves will shred through dungeons. At least, before endgame. Not sure about viability after. My Werewolf toon isn't even max level yet (just 44) and can easily solo many dungeons and world bosses (takes a bit though).
Came here to say the same thing basically.
In PvE it's kind of annoying because the majority of your DPS is pure single-target.. so in a group setting, you're not going to be doing good damage outside of a boss fight because everyone else's ridiculous area damage is going to kill things too quickly.
In PvP, though, Werewolf form + the morph that gives you two wolf pets is pretty powerful and if you're fairly good you can 1vX people are are almost unstoppable in any 1v1 situations. I look for people to probably complain about it now to the point that it gets nerfed, to be honest.
Stamsorc + Werewolf is pretty lol. And now that I mention that, Stamsorc is probably the best class for one for PvE, so that you can use Hurricane for AoE situations.
