play an hour and game did not save

I have no trouble with ESO but I have been playing Summerset The Crystal Tower. Following Barbas for 40 minutes, fighting numerous boring enemies, I had to leave for a while and when I signed back in the quest went back to the beginning. Why does this game not save where I left off, or even close?

You playing ESO or skyrim? I played ESO and made all quests in summerset and never had to follow barbas as that was skyrim. It seems to me you're playing skyrim and skyrim you need to save.m

You actually have to follow Barbas when you first enter the crystal tower, because he leads you to the entrance from Vile's dimension.

But yeah, the quest won't save unless the quest objective has changed, or if you're in a quest-specific location. (E.g. the crystal tower).

I am playing ESO, Barbas is also a dog in skyrim. I did complete the quest when I knew I had the time. I do wish the developers would add more saves.

Yes now I remember. Depending where you are in the quest you will start from where you stop or will put you out of the instance when you log out.

Always starts you at the beginning of the quests last advancement when you log out. Think of them like checkpoints.
