Umm, well, I'm in my 60's. I'm allowed to make minor mistakes. I haven't done math in so long I have almost forgotten how.
edit: I was using the approximate days rate.

i have in no way attacked you, i just want to give people a clear picture if they ask for advice
even if im new doesnt render me incapable of learning and ive experienced plenty of people who put people in the dark by just telling people to take it slow and conform to some kind of cult that everyone should subscribe to eso+ and waste their money when they dont need to and that theyve got a long journey ahead without even opening a door or two.

its surprising how friendly most people are in this game but often people seem to pretend to know more than they really do, sometimes it gets uglier than it needs to be.

be more open to being wrong and maybe its easier to have a constructive conversation

Imo, 1 crafting character and the rest max out over time if you want. Definitely get alchemy, provisions, and enchant maxed for all since all levels pretty much share the same mats. There are more than enough skills points to max crafting and have a usable character.

If you really want to hit all traits asap, spread out the workload. It can work up to 10 pieces of equipment per character. With enough gold, you can buy scrolls to chop research by a day effectively halving research time.

I am sorry to interrupt your cozy flamewar party, I would just like to give two practical tips to anyone considering crafting:

1. Have a dedicated crafting character. Only learn motifs, recipes, and furniture plans on that character the first time you get them.

2. If you can, make that character an Imperial. Each character knows his/her race's full motif by default. All racial motifs are inexpensive common blue drops, bar the Imperial motif, which is an expensive rare golden drop.

i read somewhere to make one clothier/carpenter/smith and another jeweler/alch/ench/prov so that skillpoints aren't spread too thin.
