Tying a DMM account to the Steam version?

I just bought the game, Steam won't send a refund due to the launcher being open over night, but I'm not able to play the game here in Japan. Apparently the Japanese version uses the DMM game launcher Is there any way to use the version bought on stream here in Japan.

I've tried a VPN it doesn't work, and once installed it constantly gives an invalid token expecting to be launched from the DMM launcher.

Does anyone have any experience with this?
