stuck at "requesting login" screen

so, i bought this game about seven hours ago. most of these past seven hours has been downloading, and despite the 106 minutes of playtime my account says it has, i have not been able to get to the actual game itself because every time i open the stupid thing it just sits at the "requesting login" screen for 30+ minutes. is there an actual fix to this or did i waste my money

I'm having the exact same issues. This is really irritating seeing I bought the entire dlc and spent 70 dollars on this and can't even log in. Steam needs to fix this. I opened a normal extra copy of it and it went straight to the log in screen but we can't log in via that because Steam has to auto log us in. This needs to be fixed immediately!

they're wanted us to pass the 2 hour mark so you cant refund the game afterward

Here are the different options that I would try in order:

1. Re-Link your ESO and Steam Account
2. Run Steam in Administrator Mode
3. Repair the files in the launcher
4. Take the following link, and follow the instructions after step 14

5. Uninstall the game on steam, make sure your Steam and ESO account is linked, and download the game from https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/users/account
6. If that does not work Repeat step 4
7. Re Purchase the Game from https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/store for $9.99 while it is still on sale then download it from there, and I would probably un-link your Steam account before you download

What I ended up doing was submitting a request for a refund, and buying the game from the ESO website for the same price. Also on the ESO website on your account page, you want to make sure that you have an active account status. Idk if this takes some time with Steam.

Had the same problem. I was stuck at the "requesting login" part after I initially booted up the game. I decided to create an account via ESO's website then linked my Steam account thru it. Then when I started the game and tried logging in for the first time, I got stuck with the "request login" part.

What worked for me was doing the first step that Tosty recommended, which was re-linking my ESO and Steam accounts. But I did it via the game and not thru the ESO website under the "My Accounts" page. So to be precies, these are the steps that I did: 1) unlink my ESO and Steam account, 2) launched the game thru Steam, 3) chose "I have an existing PC/Mac Elder Scrolls Online account", 4) entered my userid and password and confirmed to link both accounts. From thereon, logging in to the game was never a problem to me.

For what it's worth, hope this helps out others facing a similar problem.

Unlink ur accounts before runing the game and do it in-game

ill necro this thread. Legged in today, played everythin was fine. After few hours tried to log in and bam, stuck at requesting login.. Maybe it has to do something with today's steam outtage ?

You two should take arrows to the knee, there's already 2 new threads about this and you necro and old thread about it? Yeah look at all the people that can't get on the game right now, of course it's and outage or issue out of your hands
