Only suggestion I have is to make sure you both have the same alliance to start with in case you want to try the PvP campaign at some point.
If not, just do whatever, it doesn't really matter much. If you are into the story or want to complete the quests in 'order' though, yeah, go for the same alliance again so you both start in the same 'zone'.
One caveat: there is one quest line that is intended to be played alone, and some questlines have portions that are for 'solo', so you *will* be separated at times.
But only for a short while, and even the mentioned main questline only separates you for small intervals - it can still be mostly coop'd.
Another suggestion, though again pretty much irrelevant, maybe one of you can opt to be a healer or tank - makes the playing together even more fun (and way easier, not that questing is hard at all), as you both have a 'proper' mission. One to do damage the other to heal / tank the baddies.
But this is not really needed, just be whatever pleases you, though again to avoid confusion with the huge amount of quests and whatnot, create characters of the same alliance.
Have fun.
But I play with my boyfriend and it's pretty fun. Also pvp..
And you can send gifts and get married for more ep.. ;)
...and is really not worth it in the long run.
We really wished there was more to the in-game marriage than a lame ring that blocks a slot that is used better by proper gear later in the game.
Like for example proper co-living in a house. As it is, she just gifts me housing items she buys / loots / builds and decorates everything, but it is MY house and she can't even have her storage boxes in there which really sucks.
By the third character we created together, we didn't even bother with the marriage, as the 10% exp really doesn't matter. Like, at all.
Too expensive for what it does, really.
So we just do same-alliance characters with matching last names now and be married that way ;)
1 of those is included in the Digital Imperial Upgrade, I think.
That's a scroll you use at a shrine of Mara. Only one person needs it, but both have to accept the 'marriage'.
Upon completion of the ceremony, the rings are created in each person's inventory.
