Provisioning - A worth while skill
I'm surprised this topic hasn't been discussed much in the past but as an avid ESO crafter I cannot stress the importance of spinning at least one toon with proficient provisioning skills. Not only is it great to be able to craft higher end food and drink yourself, but it also means you can sell off your wares and makes some money in the guild store.

I personally tend to focus on a few key ones, but would love to get some other players feed back on what recipes they use in order to help them survive in PVP? Any thoughts?

its probably because its such basic knowledge for anyone who even cares in the slightest about doing more damage and surviving in raids/dungeons in any mmo game that they wouldve been prepared with raid foods/drinks/flasks/pots and most guilds demand it to be prepared or theyll be kicked from the guilds

I agree, for the most part - for the veteran player it is basic knowledge. However, as a guild leader myself I am constantly amazed by how many players (in particular new players) just think provisioning is useless. Or worse, don't use consumables at all.

I understand that it's easy if your in the mist of a fight to not realise your buffs have timed out, but I just think it's so bizzare that people wouldn't want to craft things like Clockwork Citrus Filet for themselves. Yes, guilds can make a lot of money from such items and players can buy them but this to me is just another reason for wanting to max provisioning to level 50.

if you have guildies that think raid food/drinks/pots/flasks are useless, its probably better late than never to start replacing bad players because theres thousands of players thats hungry for serious guilds in this game and paying or cooking some food is a tiny cost.

a majority of guilds demand this and it shouldnt be uncommon to anyone, usually theres at least a few players who offer a helping hand to prep you before the scheduled raidtime, the amount of helpful people that doesnt even charge the players a fee for their services are insanely many in this game compared to most other mmos as well.

my last guild leader prepped me with at least 20 legendary enchants and i only had to provide the mats.

Sounds like you had a nice guild leader! I try to help my guildies out as best I can with these things, and have an open bank policy for resources.

I have a orc who is a master provisioner. He makes purple-level food. All my characters use it.

For me it's alchemy that is the biggest deal.

Alchemy is definitely better, food is not expensive at all so you can just get it from guild store, but those essence of weapon power/spell damage and all the pvp pots are worth good gold, plus the medicinal use passive.

While Provisioning passives are inarguably good, I'm going to go with Alchemy being more important as well.

Why? Medicinal Use.

This passive allows you to chug Essences one after another without having to wait at all between uses; simply put, with that passive maxed out you can maintain 100% uptime on Weapon/Spell potion buffs.

That said, though.. the duration increase passives in Provisioning are a joy to have.. whether I'm even doing anything or not I keep a food buff active on all of my characters at all times, so.. squeezing every second out of that that you can is essential.

It isn't much, but it'll definitely save you gold in the long run simply from not having to use food or drink as often.
