Can't find CD key

I got ESO as a gift and since I don't want to download ESO from Steam, I figured I'd use the CD Key and download straight from the website. The problem is, when I right click the game, there is no option to "View CD Key."

This means I have to wait through a 2 day long download, just to get the launcher and wait for that download... Is there another way to get the CD Key or am I stranded?

If you got an older version of the game your key should be in your game library if not you have to link it to steam and it will handle it through that.

They changed the key thing a while ago so you don't need one anymore just link it to steam.But make sure you link the right account of eso if you got more cause unlinking will take some time.

Log into your eso account and look in the settings there if you got it linked to steam or when you hit play through steam and the launcher pops up it should say steam in the lower left part of the launcher if its not saying steam there you don't have it linked to steam.

If you do try to disable the steam overlay option in the eso game setting in steam for some people that is causing a problem too.Game settings (properties) and uncheck the steam overlay there.
