what trigger suggested also reboot after you run the eso launcher repair option.Look up if the gold edition is in your steam library of the game under the dlc section there.
If nothing helps think some players had similar issues you might do a clean install of the game.
Also if you bought the gold edition through steam you shouldn't need to activate any key cause I bought it from steam too and had nothing to activate except the eso account verification mail.
Yes I did, just the normal version though, not Gold Edition.
When you brought the gold edition you didn't buy an upgrade, you brought a whole new account.
So you'll have to somehow unlink your old account and link the new one. It's a very stupid and unprofessional system that they have in place.
Are you serious?
I played the normal version, liked it so much, that I decided to get the gold version and now I can't play my "Normal Eso characters" with the Gold Edition content? holy sh**.
I can't unlink from Steam, they told me in the support ticket. They're working on a method to unlink accounts, but it's not done yet and they can't assure that it will work when they are able to do it.....
If you got the free weekend edition during the test try out phase you might do a fresh install or try out the eso launcher repair option but as it sounds you got two versions of the game now base and gold and you can only link one to steam at the time.
Doubt you can have both normal and gold edition on at the same time because the gold edition is considered a dlc and should be stated as such in your steam game eso library.
You could ask for a refund for the gold edition in that case.
I just downloaded the game again from their website (45gigs.... F* me).
I logged in with my userid and got the notification that I aquired some collectables and some DLC's have been added. I logged in with my normal account, but no via steam but from the other downloaded game. So i can now deinstall the steam version.
Thanks so much for your help guys.
I hope my struggle helps someone else, too.
