Argonian Templar, HELP!
i have a argonian templar that is my main character but i have been reading some templar guides and it says that argonians are one of the worst healers! should i stick to an argonian or should i make another character? (I havent been playing for long so my argonian is only level 12, but i dont know if its worth leveling up a race that everyone says it crap). if i should go argonian what abilities should i use, HELP!

Argonian healer can and will work, the racial passive skills might not be optimal but you will absolutely get the job done. Most people tend to go with either Breton or Altmer.
so is it worth starting again?

It does not make a big amount of difference. If it really bugged you when you made top level you could buy a race change token and switch. You can start over if want, level 12 is very fresh still.
Level 12 is really fresh so if you are happy with your Argonian as a whole you should keep it, don't worry so much about what guides say. They are often made for those that do end game content, like veteran trials and such.

But if you decide to roll a new character, its not like you lost a whole lot and your argonian will still be there since you can have several toons.
Good thing I love about this game is you can play anyway you want. Be whoever you want, build your charcater anyway you want.

I only read guides to get general ideas about something I was wondering. MOST (not all) character build guides are written by elitists who think thier way is the right way and if you don't follow the way they did it than you won't be any good later on..yadda yadda, yadda.

Don't worry about is this the right race for this class nonsense....only time that really matters in this game is if you want to be a 100% max best perfect endgame beast that thinks just because they micro manged every detail to be "perfect" that everyone will want to take them along and will get more done faster than everyone else.

I like roleplaying and I'm sorry but noone's "perfect". Yeah I may be a real good assassin but maybe I don't do as much dps as the "perfect build" but I get the job done and I had more fun along the way because I did it the way i wanted and not have to micromanage every point placed, every little detail on a build.

I like to boldly push the boundries of things most people won't even concider...Go away from being main stream and falling in line like a good little sheep..be an individual and stand out and prove those elitest wrong..muahahaha!!!
People will say a lot of things. It comes down to playstyle, and what type of healing you are doing (PvE, PVP, trials, dungeons, Solo).

Deltia Gaming does lots of good vids. In particular, he's give us an Argonian Templar build, check it out:

Those saying Argonian templar is bad may not have actually done the research, and are just 'assuming' lots of magicka is best. Which isn't necessarily the case. As Deltia explains, the Argonian +healing% passive gives more advantage than the +magicka from other races, in the situation where you are a full-time healer. IF you use smart resource management to replenish Magicka. Anyway, watch the vid, give it a go.

for a first time player, if you are looking for a strong all around build. Argonian isn't the best choice, you should start over. As Argonian is really a specialised race. While as a first char won't be specialised, you'll be trying all sorts, mostly soloing. As such, The high Elf or Breton is good general race for different kinds of healers/DPS.

You may decide you don't want to be a dedicated healer, enjoying more DPS or something else. Reseting stats or attributes is fairly easy, so you can rebuild your char. Changing race requires Crowns, which is a LOT more expensive to do than stats/skills. Hence picking a more 'generally' useful race is better.

fortunately, you have 4 char slots :) so no need to delete the Argonian, just make a new char. all good!
You can easily respec the Argonian into a Templar DPS or Tank. It's about 1,200gold in the Capital City of Mournehold. There are Shrines in the City Center that you 'donate' to. A bit of a walk, but you can farm supplies, pick up wayshrine locations, and enjoy the beautiful artwork on the way.

My Templar spearmaiden is a solid tank, but also wreaks havoc in PvE. The big issue I think is that by lore and racial bonus's, Argonians are traditionally casters. If you keep your toon in the healing section, just be sure to invest in Magic and Health. The Magic is what your damage will be based on, so Argonian is good for that tree of Templar.

Also, if you need to respec just stats, or talent morphs, there are shrines for that too.
