How can I reset and restart a glitched quest?

I was in a quest named "lifeline" I think that required me to get some vampire blood to help save a king's life. As I was attempting to do that quest (and it was darn confusing to determine exactly what I was supposed to do), I talked to a few other characters and did a few quests for them - which seems to have glitched my original quest so that I can no longer complete it. It's still asking me to do things that I can no longer do - because the game logic thinks I'm past that point...

My question is: Is there any way to reset my original quest, so I can restart and complete it? Thanks for any advice and assistence.

go to your journal and there is a selection to abadon that quest.... abandon that quest and then pick it up again where it started... i had to do that once or twice no biggy...
