Overall. Werewolf is built more for stamina based users while vampires are more built for magicka based. I personally prefer the Vampires, which is why I play one, as I don't have to worry about needing to transform to active most of my passives along with other reasonings.
The Lyncanthropy effects (extra Poison damage taken and bonus to Stam, Armor and Sprint) only apply while you're transformed.
