Email Address is already in use?

I've recently purchased Elder Scrolls Online for the PC (Currently have it for the PS4), and am trying to create a new account. However, it says that the Email Address is already in use for another account.

I don't know why this is happening, as I have never even logged into the website. In fact, when I tried to fetch my UserID and Password with my email address, it said that they couldn't find an account with that data (Unless I somehow got my own name wrong, which is unlikely).

The only other place where I could have created an account was the PS4, but I've just used my PS4 account to play ESO. What should I do?

Did you ever find a solutuiin to this? I am having the same problem! Downloaded ESO last night and went to play today and it says my email address is already in use. I have played Skyrim and Skyrim SE before but only on PC and I've never been on the ESO site before now. So frustrated!

Creating a brand new e-mail account for no other purpose than to play a game I already own on console is not going to happen.

I bought this last night and after waiting forever to download and update it was too late to play, i was so excited to get home from work to play, but of course it wasn't that simple. It took me like 2 and a half hrs to get this to work. First it said my email was already in use... when i tried to reset username or password, it said invalid account.. i searched through my old emails and found a validation link from 2 years ago when i tried it on ps4...but it was no longer valid! So then I tried to link through steam it told me i had to buy the game...wtf? so finally I decided to create a new account and use another email address... but just so you know- the validation email takes like 20 mins to receive, don't click resend 5 times like i did, because every new email they sent, the validation was invalid. I was seriously just about to get a refund on steam when the emails slowly started coming through. Had to wait several minutes between each one, and the last one finally let me validate and play. Sooo frustrating!!

I did eventually find a fix for this. For those stopping by and wondering, they told me that I made a ps4 account but I had no email attached to it. So I had an account with email and a PS4 account without email. I ended up linking the two

How did you link them please help i just got it for pc having played it years ago on my ps4 and it says emails in use but no valid account!!

Use that existing account and change password.
Problem solved.

you dont use your email to login ^^ the name you gave yourself is the ID ;)

i tried the name i gave myself and it did not work.
When following the websites prompts to recover account information there are many questions required to be answered i do not know the specific answers to.
"When was the account originally created?" REALLY??? I don't remember that ♥♥♥♥ and now it among other random bits of data are keeping me from playing the game i payed $ for.
I do not understand WHY THIS IS SO DIFFICULT. i have spent over 1.5 hours through loopholes on their website just redirecting me to different completely unhelpful pages.

I cannot login via xbox (which is the only way other than PC that i could have ever even created an account on this game) and my email is apparently 'already in use' with no function to recover the information

I just tried with a BRAND NEW email, literally just created to make this account, and it STILL says 'this email is already in use" LOL

realy sry to hear that
i can only advise to use the support, but if you cant even login to the homepage ...
i know i played it once befor i bought it on a free to play weekend (long ago). was no problem to create a new account when i finaly bought the game ^^
hope you get this solved somehow.
btw: there are some issues with steam login, but i cant say what to do - i have it from Zenimax.
