Restoration Staff vs Destruction Staff

What's the difference between the two and which is better? Does the Restoration staff do damage and does it heal you too when it fires? What makes the Deateuction Staff better in certain areas than the Restoration Staff?

The resoration staff I believe can heal you but you need to unlock a skill line perk for it to do so. When you use a resoration staff you will have a skill line that is literally called "restoration staff" and there are various useful perks to it that can be unlocked but like most RPG games with this type of system it takes time. But I am at least 90% sure that there is a perk you can unlock that heals you as it damages your opponants. Hope this helped, sorry though if it did not, I don't use staffs often I more so am a enchanted weapons (Daggers, Swords, ect.) kind of guy.

Resto staffs basic light and heavy attacks damage the opponent and give some health to you, that's about it for dealing damage.

Destruction staff on the other hand has three different types: fire, ice and lightining. When you've unlocked some skills on it, the skills element changes to match the one in your currently equipped staff.

Resto staff is for healers and supports. The damage of the staff is secondary, its main use is for using the restoration skills.

The destruction staff has 3 elements with each their specs. Ice is for tanking (it's the magicka equivalent of the shield), fire and lightning are for dps.
