Missing Characters
Hello,

I have 250+ hours of playtime from 2-3 years ago, I downloaded game again and it wanted me to link my account to my Steam account. I did as it asked and when I logged in all my characters were gone.

I searched on the internet for days, nothing helped me. I am still missing my characters and there is only one Discussion here about Missing Characters.

Is there anyone still having this problem? Or someone already had it and solved?

-

I downloaded game twice, my characters are still missing. I tried every trick on the internet, nothing helped.

I am worrying about my characters were in Beta times, that's why they are gone now. I think this is when I bought this game: http://i64.tinypic.com/316sxub.jpg Was I playing in closed-beta or something that means my characters were temporary?

If not, and if there is nobody can help me, I am going to submit a support ticket. :\ I don't want to do that because EVERYONE says it takes days to get even a reply.

Thanks in advance!

I found a lot of discussions here, reading them hopelessly. *-*

From my experience with other Beta games, all characters that you had in beta stage will be wiped on launch.

My friend had a character ages ago, but it was gone when he wants to play, he contacted ZOS, 3 weeks after, they restored his account, at least thats what I heard.

Best option is to contact ZOS, you might wait a bit, but you will get your answer.

Thanks. I will contact with them.

All characters from Beta were wiped upon launch. However the game launched in April 2014 so, going by your link, you purchased it a year after.

Check to make sure you are on the correct server. On the login screen, it will say either 'server NA' or 'server EU'. You can swap between servers from here if the wrong one is showing.

Yeah, I checked it a lot. I logged in to NA and EU countless times. Everytime I choose server, there was announcement below changing. On the internet people says "Live and Live-Eu" but mine are just "NA & EU".

I enabled PTS and disabled it again.

Also this is my Platforms.xml file:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='utf-8'?>
<platforms>
<platform>
<name>Live</name>
<login_service_url>https://live-services.elderscrollsonline.com</login_service_url>
<customer_service_url>https://cs.services.bethesda.net</customer_service_url>
<default>false</default>
<default_realm_id>4000</default_realm_id>
</platform>
<platform>
<name>Live-EU</name>
<login_service_url>https://live-eu-services.elderscrollsonline.com</login_service_url>
<customer_service_url>https://cs.services.bethesda.net</customer_service_url>
<default>false</default>
<default_realm_id>4001</default_realm_id>
</platform>
</platforms>

I guess there is nothing wrong with this file either.

so you uninstalled from Steam and then re-installed game with steam again and when you clicked on play and let steam/eso launcher fully open. You must have answered the QUESTION: is this a NEW or EXISTING account, you must have said NEW. giving new a new account. You should have said EXISTING. You could try to explain your mess-up to ESO support, just be nice to them and they might hook-up your old account.

your LINK shows you OWN at least Tamriel Unlimited as of Nov 25th, 2015, that is not BETA.
Trigger Nov 15, 2017 @ 9:46am
being from Turkey you should be on EU server, you might be on NA server now. You need to switch over.
Trigger Nov 15, 2017 @ 9:50am
LIVE and LIVE EU are files that hold ADD-ONS for your game of eso.

What?

I'm sorry I don't understand you. It seems like you are repeating my words. Thanks for letting me know that my characters were not in Beta though. That was something I wanted to know for sure. Plus, I logged in both servers and both of them were empty.

When they told you to join your ESO account to your STEAM account, How did you do that ?
Dakua Nov 15, 2017 @ 12:00pm
I don't remember exactly. I think it happened in in-game login screen. I signed in my account on ESO website to check it too, everything was fine. I can even sign in to website through Steam.

ESO joined to steam means you launch game from steams/eso play button where there is NO LOGIN
Trigger Nov 15, 2017 @ 12:10pm
Nov, 2015 when you bought Tamriel Unlimited, did you buy it through STEAM ?
Dakua Nov 15, 2017 @ 12:48pm
Instead of just asking questions and questions can you just please say something helpful IF you know something? I appreciate that you trying to solve my problem but you are saying same things over and over and not being helpful. As I mentioned in the first post I am looking for help from SOMEONE HAD SIMILAR EXPERIENCE. Otherwise as you can see from your posts trying to help without knowledge only causes chaos here. And yes, I bought game from Steam.
