Mixing monster sets ?

I was just wondering if it would be ok to mix monster sets instead of using the 2 set peice. Would it still be good dps ? I have tried a few that I have gotten and they don't seem that strong since they can't crit and some don't activate often so I was thinking of going for kraghs for penetration and something like selenes for max stam :)

yes, but only the 1 piece applies. you can wear like molag kena helmet and a shoulder of velidreth and recieve the 1 piecs bonus from each set. I belive 1 molag kena and velidreth gives you weapon damage 2 times.

yes I wear shadowren and choakthorn on my tank.
