ESO Launcher Fatal Error 11 & 15

Hi guys,

I might have a solution for you guys, I received the “Fatal Error 11” pop up after my ESO updated. Every time I launched the game it would start to load having the black screen come up and then just crash.

I have tried running the launcher as administrator, I tried both the Steam and Launcher repair tool which after 4 attempts re downloading 44 gig, still no luck and ended up with the “Fatal Error 15” pop up with the exact same problem still.

As a last desperate attempt I tried to make a backup of my ESO game with Steam’s Backup function, in an effort to uninstall and do a restore and see if that would work.

While running the backup on Steam, Steam threw an error out stating it cannot backup due to an update not installed, so Steam then queued this update. It was an extra 13gig on top of the 44 gig usual “repair download” making it a total of 57 gig.

This morning early when it was finished the launcher started the game up with no crashes or errors.

So in short:
Make a backup of your ESO on Steam, and Steam will detect the missing update.
Hopefully this will resolve your issue as it had mine.
