So i heard something that level difference does not matter in this game?
Something about monsters caling to your level

So if i am level 6 and party with someone level 1 its fine?

I understand the monsters scales to your level. So if the level 1 attacks the monster its level 1 and if i attack its level 6?
But wouldnt it be abuse if he attacks it first makes it level 1 and then the higer level guy beats it down? if there was a bigger level gap i would assume it would just be 1 shotting?

all monsters are lvl 50 160cp. char stats dont mean sh*t in game. only thing that scales up is your gear i think. really bad system. spent over 1100 hours and still wasn't able to do decent damage. i quit.

YOU scale to the level of the monsters, the monsters dont scale to your level.
The further you progress the less will the game scale you up. As you progress through the levels till 50 you will slowly recognize that your stats will drop in terms of weapon dmg and maximal ressources.

What is more important is having proper level gear.

Actually there is no level scaling at all, if we are to be accurate. Everyone has the "same" base stats. You, the mobs, npcs etc. It's not equal between like you and a boss, but a rat you see at the beginning of the game is the same rat you'll see in any area, a rat is a rat anywhere you are.

What happens when you level up is that you gain skills points, that's the main progression. then you also "gain" stat points, but it's not really a gain, your base stats are actually getting down by one point and that point is given back to you for reattribution, so the difference between a lv 1 and lv 50 is that the level 1 has all his points allocated in a default position (giving the player a balanced build) and the level 50 has all his points manually allocated (so all in magicka, or stamina etc.).

The only real scaling (or downscaling actually) is with the equipment. Equipment in itself doesn't have stats. The stats of an equipment are calculated from a table, and where you are on that table is determinated by your level minus the level of the equipment. If the result is 0 (so your level equals your equipment) you are on the tier 1 and get the maximum of the value.

So for example a lv 1 using a lv 1 white staff gets 1037 damage from it. A lv 50 using a white staff lv 50 will also get 1037.

Now a lv 50 using a lv 1 staff, will get something like 100 damage.

Weapons scale from lv 1 to lv 50 cp 160. You get a downscaling penalty every 2 levels and every 10 champion points if you are lv 50.

The max scalign of a weapon is cp160, so if you are over cp 160 and use cp160 weapons you are fine.

there is also a passive stat bonus from allocating champion points (in addition to the champion passives themselves).

So you can say that from lv 1 to 50 ther is no progression at all except for skills and you actually start getting effectively stronger when you get champion points.

You can actually see the difference bewteen a cp 630 and a lv 50 cp 10. Even if you are a good player, fighting a cp630 is getting very difficult very fast because of the difference in damage and resistance that the guy gets from the champion passives.

What this system does is, for example, allow you (a low level, for example) to play with your max level high cp friend, and you don't have the same kind of power gap that you'd have in most games.

When I played my level 40 with friends who had levels 3 and 12, and we were all making progress with our characters, I thought this kind of scaling was the best thing since the discovery of fire. "Go anywhere, do anything," is a thing in this mmo, and that's pretty neat!

So what do you have to look forward to as you level? More skill points, then more cp points, then at max level you can start specializing your gear even further with persistent set bonuses and bigger numbers than the scaling would have given you leveling up. The more you can synergize your bonuses, the better your character.

In theory, yes. But you would have no skills, not good gear, not really know how to play. SO you would either die a lot or take a long time to kill.

Its makes it so you will see players of all levels running around in all zones. Makes it a lot more populated.
