You shouldn't spend money on stuff when you don't even know what you're buying.

Because game logic overrides real logic.

Because if you can store stuff in the house they can't sell ESO+.

Owning a house allows you to fast travel to it from anywhere in the world for free.

I own an Apt in Glenumbra, and an Apt in Alik'r, and this allows me to easily go to those cities for free.

It's also good for triggering guild trader purchases, once you zone into your house you will get your mail. Sometimes I fast travel to my apt just to trigger mail.

"You are about to enter another dimension. A dimension not only of sight and sound, but of mind"... where you must spend lots of money on useless houses.

The apartment in Glenumbra is free.

"Purchase" the quest starter for the apt in the crown store. It's a free puchase.
Once you complete the quest you will have your own apt in Glenumbra.

My house in Rawlka awesome, my friends and I chill in it when we need a break from quests. I have all crafting stations, free to teleport to.

Houses are for showing off, Role Playing, Teleports, and having quick access to various crafting stations. (the special crafting stations that let you make certain sets)

You can always upgrade your bank slots, and buy a house to upgrade and get more inventory space.

The free houses are as small as broom closets. It wasn't even worth doing the quests.
