How do I use the the sip of health item in my Quickslot ?

I have the PC game of ESO and have figured out how to put my health items from my inventory into my Quickslots. But I don't know how to use them when I need one? I know you hold the Q key to bring up the items, but how do you use an item?

press Q to use the item in your quickslot

hold down q to set the potion as well as open quickslot in inventory
