Apparel Hidden Without Costume
I have no costume equipped. I have checked my inventory in the area next to the necklace and it is empty. Yet it says "Apparel Hidden" and it doesn't matter what I put on the clothes stay the same. I am level 6 and still finishing the Lord Vivec main questin Vivec City.

hit U and go to apprarance. you may have some costume on or somthing

Are you a troll or something? Its a Warden costume, recolored to black (i believe its brown in original). Costume and disguise "in the area next to the necklace" are two different things.

I'm a Breton human. The area on the left of teh necklace says appearance when I hover over it. On the right of the necklace is just rings.

You are sounding not very comfortable with computers. Like the people above have said, press U to see all your outfits, go to apparel and see if any are marked. They will have a gold eye next to the category if you have outfit on.

It turned out I was looking in the wrong place. The costume was able to be turned off when I pressed U not in the inventory.

Outfits can also hide your equipment. You can change your outfit at an outfit station.
