Bought ESO through Steam, Morrowind DLC as CD Key on G2A
So, I originally bought ESO on steam, but today, i bought the morrowind upgrade as a cd key (not steam) on g2a. I activated it on my ESO account outside of steam. When i run on steam, it shows that i havent upgraded. Is my steaam linked to a different ESO account? Because I log in through website and it doesnt show me linked to steam at all.

sorry, it censors other sites. but i bought the dlc on a site that wasnt steam, and it wasnt a steam code. Now reading over, it sounds confusing. Basically, my steam is linked to an ESO account that is not upgraded to morrowind. I log in through the website, and it is not linked to steam, and it shows that io have an active ESO account, and Morrowind upgrade is there. I dont know if i have to relink or something.

PS: The account that is NOT linked to steam, is the one that i bought ESO with on steam. So i dont understand how i could be playing on any other profile, if i only bought the game once.

If you have ESO on steam then you must buy Morrowind on Steam too. In Keyshops are only non steam Keys that are not compatible to steam Version of the Game. ;)

But on the eso website, i was able to redeem the code on my account. But what i dont understand is that steam is linked to an eso account that i dont even have my license on. But the one that i do have it on is not linked to steam. So how am i able to play?

I partically did the same thing, it works fine. You can create warden and explore the new vvardenfell with your account just fine

Unless u made a silly mistake and never linked the ESO account to STEAM account before activating the key... but quite impossible

But heres the thng, the account my steam is linked to doesnt say that it has any licenses (base game or morrowind), and my account status says trial. However, when i go to the account that DOES have the license, it says i have the upgrade, but im not steam linked. How could i play on the other account, and not the one with the actual license?

FALSE. FALSE FALSE FALSE.

My steam and eso accounts are linked. I bought Morrowind through ESO site. Logged in through steam and can play.

OP, if your steam and ESO accounts are properly linked, anything you add on ESO account will be added to steam. You need to make sure your ESO and steam accounts are linked properly.

I understand... but thats only part of the issue, the real problem, is that my steam is linked to an account i used during the beta. It is even possible to be playing the full game like that as I am? Also, I used the key on the account that has the licenses for the game, how can i change it, and if i cant, are my toons shared between them?

Yes, because you bought on steam, meaning you own the game. Linking the accounts just lets you use your old characters and such. This is especially helpful to people like me that played on and off since beta, and didn't want to start all over.

The changing accounts, I think that gets into technical help from the eso website. Gotta submit a help ticket for that. If you get it fixed so you can link to the proper account, the one you have morrowind attached to, you will be able to use the old characters from when you played with just the client.

Can explain? do u have have the game on steam? And now you don't?

So your ESO account isn't steam linked??? Btw when you first login, using steam you have the option to link a ESO account. Do you remember doing it?

Your ESO account didn't have the steam tag like mine?

I do have the game on steam, thats where I bought it. And I did link it to an ESO account, but one that was active with a TRIAL status. I have another account that is currently active, but this one is not linked. I need to know if a trial account is even linkable, and why Ive been playing on that account without interruptions. Secondly, I believe I havent been playing on my active account since I linked it to the other one. I want to know if I can unlink my steam from the bad account and switch it to the good one.

Also, I am able to download the game from the ESO website as if its the non steam version. If I do this, I know I will be able to play the expansion, but it will mean losing steam progress, and losing my toons on the steam version with the trial account.

Here's the thing i wanted the same thing but there's no unlink and linking to a new account. At least i don't think anyone did it. You only link it once.

If gold farmer and relink to other ESO account, they basically just keep doing it after being banned..... lol

You have to go through a support ticket, and explain the situation to them. They might help, but usually takes 3-4 business days to reply.

Yes create a ticket on ESO Homepage and the support will help you. Much luck. :)
