Imperial race

I purchased the Gold Edition of the game and when i create a character the Imperial race is unavailable, can someone tell me why is that or what do i have to do to unlock it. Also is there a way to play in one of the three alliances with a race thats not from a that alliance, for example play as Orc in Aldmeri Dominion.

You have to buy those. It's in the crown store

No matter what race you choose you can travel to all locations, but if you choose orc from AD for example you can only fight for AD in alliance wars.
Other than that there isn't really a downside to which race you choose, so if you have friends who you want to play alliance wars with, I'd go the same alliance as them. but other than that you can be say a breton and do dungeons with your argonian friends even though your from different alliances.

The adventurer pack lets you play any race any faction

The Imperial upgrade allows you to play as an imperial, they are not included in gold edition

Yup ^^ Gold is just game +4 DLC. And they're named on Market page. Nothing more.
Imperial Edition upgrade is not included. However, you got Imperial City DLC, which is access to IC dungeons. Only things you miss are Imperial race, white horse and superpower to transform your items to Imperial style.
