See if that helps.
I now remember I did the same when I first installed the game but it's been 3 years and since then I had forgotten that I needed to uncheck those windows defender boxes.
I have installed the game a lot of times over the years but since I had done that already it never gave me a problem, but my computer broke and I had to get it back to default. You're a life saver dude, I've been going crazy for the past 3 days because everything was fine, I just could NOT log in, and I didn't have the eso.ini file. THANK YOU.
All you need to do is add eso64.exe to the list of apps that are allowed access to your protected folders. Don't disable folder protection. Just learn how to whitelist an app instead. And definitely don't disable the other protection options. That's terrible advice.
