The Elder Scrolls Online

The Elder Scrolls Online

There is no ''live'' folder on my ESO files. There is no addons either. There is no liveeu or liveus.
Hello there.

I downloaded the game yesterday + subscription and I am facing a few problems. I tried to make some use of addons but to no avail. I googled relentlessly for the past 24 hours and everytime people mention stuff like:
C:\users\<your windows username>\documents\Elder Scrolls Online\live\AddOns

Not only there is no addons file, but there is also no live file. In general my documents/eso folder looks very different from what people describe on other forums. My main concern is that I cannot use addons at all currently. I tried the CURSE program to help me download the addons directly and it works but when I launch it through CURSE I cannot login because I have to launch it through Steam, so I am back at 0.

Also, last but not least, whenever I launch the game I go through the region choosing, agree with terms and conditions windows (all 4-5 of them). Like, every, single, time. Is that normal?

Did anyone have a similar issue before? Did you solve it? Do you have maybe any insight?

You say that your ESO folder in Documents looks very different. Why don't you show us, so we can know what you're talking about?

When you load up main game, use the repair function before you press play/ DO NOT USE STEAM VERIFY, JUST THE LAUNCHER REPAIR FUNCTION.

See if that helps.
Nothing I found online worked for me, and then I noticed windows defender poping up a message every time I opened the launcher, I have tried to disable it before, but nothing changed. I checked a bit thoroughly, and found out that if you disable the folder protection option FIRST, and then disable the other options as well, relaunch the game and log in, the folder is created automatically. So, all you have to do is go in windows defender, find the folder protection option and disable it FIRST, then disable all the other, relaunch the game and it should work :).

I used the Install Wizard to download minion for my add-on needs. Worked perfectly

My god dude that worked for me, thank you so much.
I now remember I did the same when I first installed the game but it's been 3 years and since then I had forgotten that I needed to uncheck those windows defender boxes.
I have installed the game a lot of times over the years but since I had done that already it never gave me a problem, but my computer broke and I had to get it back to default. You're a life saver dude, I've been going crazy for the past 3 days because everything was fine, I just could NOT log in, and I didn't have the eso.ini file. THANK YOU.

Disable folder protection AND all the other protection options too? WTF?
All you need to do is add eso64.exe to the list of apps that are allowed access to your protected folders. Don't disable folder protection. Just learn how to whitelist an app instead. And definitely don't disable the other protection options. That's terrible advice.
