try launching the game from its launcher folder and see if you get an error like a missing file, if you do make sure you have the latest updates via Windows Update.

This sounds like your game files got guarantined by your antivrus. Possibly sandboxed. When games inexplicably stop working for me nine times out of ten this is the cause.

Hey, What do you mean by ''the latest updates''? like the latest update from the missing file?
Sezmo 27. úno. 2017 v 16.21
No they mean the latest updates from windows ten what they are saying is go to your ESO launch folder and use the .exe shortcut there to launch the game. if it still will not launch instruct windows to check for updates. this may or may not work, i think they suspect driver issues which is a possibility.

Your not gonna like this guys but i think you might need to do the following: uninstall steam completely. use ccleaner and registry recycler. reboot, tell windows to look for updates let it do its thing if you need updates instuct windows to go for it reboot again install steam, install eso, try to launch.

Imagine if I do that and it still doesnt work lol

it is one thing you can try and if it dosent work, that means a problem with windows.
I run into this every single time they update or patch this game. Getting so tired of this being a subscriber. Have to reinstall the game every time, but this time it just flat out wont start. Maybe if enough people cancel their subscriptions due to the game wont run, someone will take notice and fix this once and for all,.......maybe.
like Sezmo said, its had something to do with your PC

but theres couple of solution you can try

1. set steam run as admin
2. open ESO dir : Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client
3. look for ESO.exe and ESO64.exe
4. set both of them As Admin
5. open ESO launcher dir : Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online\Launcher
6. look for Bethesda.net_launcher.exe, and set it to Admin as well
7. also look for zenimaxSteamStarter.exe on the ESO installation program, set that run as admin as well
8. fully close (from task manager) and launch steam again

hey guys. i struggled with this for like a month and finally figured it out now hear me out.

1. press play let it do its thing then ♥♥♥♥ out like always...
2. open ThisPC>local disk C:> Users> (your user name)> AppData> Local> Temp>
3. then there will be a folder along the lines of I1---------
4.open said folder
5.Installer Data
6.Disk 1
7. Instdata.
8. Extract Resource 1.zip
9.open Resource 1.
10.$IA_PROJECT_DIR$
11.Src_path
12.then select launcher. and your going to move it to this location
13.This PC> (what ever drive you have steam installed on. Mines HDD D:) steam> Steamapps> Common> Zenimax Online
14. just drop the launcher folder in there among the rest of them. but not inside one. and then attempt the select play from the steam library. this worked for me. please message me back if it does or does not work for you as im trying to find a solid fix for everyone because its too good of a game for something like this to get in the way.
