Best places, buildings, or areas to steal?
Just asking a communities opinion as, I am a medium armor redguard player, and well, open to suggestions. Furthest I have gotten is stormhavens main city, quest wise (trying to make sure I don't miss skyshards or quests =D.)

If you're worried about missing Skyshards, there's an addon that will add all current Skyshard locations to your map, an icon to the compass for when you're close to one (or a delve/public dungeon with one in it), and a tracker on your character screen for how many you've collected.

It's called simply "Skyshards".

As far as Theft goes... I'm not really sure. I usually pilfer the small huts around Elden Root while I wait for Pledge queues to pop, but I know there are far better places. I think Deltia might actually have a guide or two on this if you want to look it up.

If you're going for Pickpocketing, however, places with lots of "Drunk" NPCs are good. Also slaves, commoners, fishers, etc. The "low class" NPCs of the game are typically easier to pickpocket than guards, nobles, mercs, etc.

There are a lot of players who will tell you this or that place is the best place to steal. They will usually brag about how they make 10k gold an hour in these spots (given the low spawn rate of higher quality loot and the limits on how much you can traffic in a day, these tall tales is terribly unlikely) and other pinnochio nonsense to impress you. Then a few dozen other people read that message, and tell a few dozen other people. And then you get dozens of people in that area trying to steal stuff all day long.

So what I do is when I find a good place that doesn't seem to get a lot of thief traffic, is I tell NO ONE. Sorry, but it's a huge map, so feel free to take the time as I have and find good spots yourself.
