Cannot install ESO, Java(TM) Platform SE Binary has stopped working
I purchased ESO Gold Ed. on steam and it will not install because of Java error. I get to the Zenimax installation window, the bar goes to full and then I get the Java error.

I have tried everything I can find online about this problem and nothing helps. I have the current version of Java.

I created an account on the ESO home page to get help, but every time i try to log in it tells me i have the wrong PW, so i request a new PW and that one wont work either.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Getting the exact same thing after I reinstalled. It used to work before but now I'm not sure. Maybe it's a java failure?

Me too, man. Exact same error and everything.

Doesn't it suck when this happens? Especially when you stopped playing about a year ago, and suddenly had a hankering to try it again?

Okay the first thing you want to do is go to your C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Temp

And find a folder with a name like this I1486092128

I drilled down into that folder useing this path
I1486092128/InstallerData/Disk1/InstData/Resource1.zip/$IA_PROJECT_DIR$/src_path

At this location you will find a folder called Launcher.

I took the folder called launcher copied it and pasted it at this location

D:\Steam\steamapps\common\Zenimax Online

After I pasted the folder at that location I opened the folder and ran

Bethesda.net_Launcher

At this point you want to let the launcher do all the updates.

When it says it's done and you can play do not push the play button push the exit button.

Then launch it from your steam Library this worked for me.

I am very sorry that it did not work for you one of the reasons it may not have is you need to make sure that hidden folders is checked as you can see them. At this point I walk you through how to do that. I am using Windows 7.

1:go to the start menu

2:click on the button that says computer

3:at the top of this window there is a drop-down called organize click that

4:in the drop-down there is another button called folder and search options click that

This will open a new window called folder options at the top of this window there is three tabs General Search & View

5:Click the View tab

6:scroll down till you see an option called show hidden files folders and drives

7:go ahead and check that button

8:hit the apply button at the bottom of the window

9:push the okay button

At this point your computer now allows you to see hidden folders, files, drives now go ahead and repeat this process.
