Thieves Guild DLC worth it?
Played ESO in Beta, stayed away from a long time butt picked up Tamriel Unlimited for $10 a couple weeks ago. Money very well spent so far!

Question is, is the Thieves Guild DLC worth its price tag? 90% of the time I play Elder Scrolls, it's with a thief character. Thoughts?

If you want the DLC, you should pick the pack with 4 DLCs, you're saving some money. Since you also get the dark brotherhood (it's the assassin guild), orsinium and the imperial city are also good content.

In all, if you want to play as a thief, as in stealing stuff, you kind of need it if you want to enjoy the full playstyle. You get the several thief dailies (breaking into homes, heists, pickpocket, laundering stuff etc.), the thieves guild skill line, giving you access to troves (special chests), better fence prices etc. You also can get a fence npc that can follow you, so you can fence stuff outside of outlaws refuges.

As with other content DLC, you also get a dungeon, 2 delves, 2 world bosses, the guild quest line with skill point rewards, skywards. You also get new sets and new skins (even the thief skin)

Fence Assistant have 35% commission instead 0% in regular Fence.
Thief Daily is a Heist (thievery on separate maps with timer). Pickpocketing etc is Contracts. Unlike Hests, Contracts are unlimited, you can take them any time you want, like ~1000 times per day... and unlike useless Brotherhood Contracts, those ones can bring you some cute motifs on max reward.
About cute stuff... passives. You may find useful Swiftly Forgotten, Clemency and Veil of Shadows. First one clears your Bounty and Heat with increased rates. Second is kinda insurance with 24 hours CD. When guard catch you, you can use Clemency and he will let you go. Guards will ignore you for 1 minute.
Haggling is useless (+10% to fence prices for 4 skillpoints? not worth), and i used Timely Escape only one time, to get achievement "use Timely Escape".

@Sajah mentioned Thieves Troves, but they're pretty useless, loot makes you sad. Buy if you'll loot 15 of them, you will be avaliable to buy Thieves Trove decoration for your house.

P.S. You will get two new costumes (which i dont like) and cute disguise (which i like).

I enjoy stealing a lot, so most of the passives for thieve's guild are enjoyable to me.

THe one I like more is Dark Brotherhood, which gives you a skill to one shot Huminoid NPCs.

I enjoyed cradle of shadows, as a NB archer, because the full set gives me random poison explosions at a distance. Really helps when trying to do mob control.

Haven't done PVP yet, so don't really know about imperial city.

All in all, I recommend the DLCs to flesh out the world and enjoy more stuff.

OP, buy the 180 day ESO Plus membership. It will PAY YOU 9,000 crowns, the first 4 dlc's come in a mega-pack called: Guilds and Glory and can be bought for 5,500 crowns. The 5th dlc: Shadows of the Hist cost 2,200 crowns, both are for sale through in-game crown store. Plus get all the bonuses of ESO Plus membership for 180 days....You'll love the CRAFT BAG.

Shadow of the hist is actually on sale for the time being, it's 1500 instead of 2200 (I'm looking at it right now ingame).

You can also pick up a two-handed weapon, get a lot of max stamina and use Uppercut from stealth. A lot less panache and finesse than the ol' Blade of Woe, but an on-level two-handed weapon should do the trick.

doesn't subscribing to eso plus automatically open all dlc so you dont have to spend crowns on buying them?

It opens them as long as you are subbing. The second you unsub you won't have access to anything. So the point of subbing for 6 months is to get the crowns to buy the DLC permanently (as you would by just buying crowns) while getting the xp and crafting bonus.
It's better than just buying from the crownshop.
