I ran a check and found 248 files corrupted or missing. I forget the exact wording.
Right now, it is downlaoding some stuff that was found to be messed up in that game folder.
Maybe someone else is going to need this if you have been having problems with the pre-ordered digital download of the NEW Morrowind for ESO. I have had a three day weekend and should have been able to pre-play the new area. I've spent half my gaming time troubleshooting or bypassing the launcher with eso64.exe.
This has been a lot of work for something I have put so much money into. Sheesh. Hope it works.
This pre-play is a joke that has put me into download purgatory because I'm a loyal fan.
This is how was finally able to patch after verifying files through Steam. This issue of communication between Steam and ZOS is resolved and they recognize that I did in fact pay for Morrowind.
Poo.... the "Verify Integrity of Game Files" is greyed out for me :/
Meow Mix (Steam):
"Looks like this is a problem with Windows 7 not enabling TLS 1.1 by default for the WinHTTP API. Zenimax must have updated the launcher site today.
I was able to get things to work by applying the fix in KB 3140245: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-default-secure-protocols-in-winhttp-in-windows-c4bd73d2-31d7-761e-0178-11268bb10392.
Specifically I had to install the "Easy Fix" link https://download.microsoft.com/download/0/6/5/0658B1A7-6D2E-474F-BC2C-D69E5B9E9A68/MicrosoftEasyFix51044.msi
to make the necessary registry updates, NOT just download the Windows update itself.
EDIT: Fixed the auto links."
All thanks for this AMAZING guy!!!!!
