Automated ship routes have now been added to ShipOS 1994 ahead of its launch on Monday 28th!

Automation has been one of the most requested features to be added to ShipOS since the demo launched a few months back so it's been something I've been working hard on to try have ready in-time for the game's full launch. I've tried to find a nice balance between the game becoming too simple whilst also having automation still simplify your life. So while your ship will now automatically sail from port to port, collecting and dropping off cargo, you will still need to be involved in accepting those cargo contracts and ensuring that your ship is on the most optimal route.

You can try the new automation feature in the ShipOS 1994 demo starting from today!

Follow these steps to setup your first automated shipping route:

1. Purchase a ship
   
2. Open the Ships application (note: the ship must be delivered to be visible)
   
3. Select the ship you want to setup automations for
   
4. Select Enabled Automation
   
5. Select the start/end port from the port dropdown and click the + button to add it
   
6. Continue to add as many ports as you'd like to the route (note: only unlocked ports can be added)

And that's it!

Some important points to remember:

• Your ship will attempt to auto refuel and service at every port it docks at
  
• If a ship is on a long route and runs out of fuel/service you will need to manually refuel/service it and re-enable automations
  
• Ships will only collect accepted contracts so you still need to manually accept them in the Contracts application
  
• Ships will only collect cargo destined for the next port in its route

This marks a major milestone for me personally as it will be the first time I'm releasing a game that I've created on Steam and I can't wait for you all to experience the full journey of running your own shipping company.
