What you get is a popup window with an error message? If you press Enter does the game continue loading? Do you get other messages or just this one?

Ok, we use SteamUserData.dll to check Steam services, but for some reason your system (firewall or antivirus) is preventing it to load.

We found the same issue in a Windows XP SP2 just installed out of the box (with security restrictions high). After installing a firewall package (ZoneAlarm), launch the game + give the permissions, it started to work.

*Not asking you to install Zone Alarm, just told you as an example, take a look to your firewall + antivirus setup and see if there's something preventing the game to load.

This issue should be caused by the antivirus program. Please turn off antivirus programs for test. You may not be closing it properly, or did you add the exception? "Project Aura" could be in your antivirus list as an application to be blocked.

Also please, make sure, latest patches and service packs are installed.

I had a similar issue in a PC which was solved after installing a firewall (zonealarm). After installing I just gave the permissions and working ok.
