Helping a Beginner Start out
Hi! I just recently bought Project AURA and I am having a difficult time progressing. I don't know if this is just because I'm incopotent, or because its supposed to take a while to gain progress
To begin with, when I start a new colony, I generally get an alpha hanger (With req. stuff for it), the basic residential, a recycling plant (With req. stuff), a seaweed farm (with req. stuff), and a water distilization plant (With req. stuff), as well as 500 seaweed rations and water. I am wondering if there is a better...build (I guess you could call it) to start out with.

Good start. Add an entertainment center and start selling excess seaweed (final product).

Then I grab some seeds via flora extraction and slowly expand via Botanical Gardens.
Thanks. I just hit the entertainment center, and selling excess seaweed is pretty much my main way of generating income (Next to selling waste from residential buildings, and the occasional gadgets)

The best money is from water actually, produces from a single building - no complicated processing necessary.

As for starting out, 500 seaweed/water from the market is overkill and cripples your early game speed - 50 is totally enough. 50 feeds a colony of 15 for 3+ days which is way more than you need to set up your own food infrastructure.
See, thats the thing. I tend to want to keep a reserve of AT LEAST ten days. I should have posted this AFTER i finished experimenting, and am able to keep a colony of at least 65-70 happy and healthy with prefab construction
Speaking of, whats the consumption rate for food?

It is not 100% finished yet but this guide[en-wiki.projectaura.com] may help.
Perfect! Thanks!

Best way is next:
1. goto market
2. select industrial corporation/elect
3. Press F2 (Resource Panel)
4. Drag the Q1 Amplifier from market and drop it on any space under "Produced Mats" in the Resource panel.

It will appear all the info you need to craft it: building, module, ideal profile, required mats, blueprint...
Click on the Gear to see the list of available productions for that blueprint and select the one you are interested on. You can do this for any item.

Note you can place things from left to right if you want to know how to craft those mats as well and vice-versa.

Hope it helps ;)

Thanks, that did help :) I was unaware that stuff from the market could be dropped into the F2 thingy. And also unaware that better Amplifiers could be crafted. Thanks!

When you start to produce food...and you will need it really soon, fertilizer is quite slow to get, so it's good to keep your stack growing up. So, it's better to use recyclers in Residences and keep the fertilizer.

So, in early game i mostly sell...what i can and mostly water and rations

Then i frequently add a second hangar dedicated to seeds. Then it depends on how many gardens/repairers i build, but i sell a lot of broken or repaired grains i don't need, stacking the best to make food.

I did not test after new version, but in my previous games i aimed at making a very profitable "Food Circle" in the first ring, then i would industrialize using outer rings after accumulating a good deal of credits.

BTW, i encourage you to build your own building blueprints, according to your real needs and to place a maximum of buiildings. If you use only "vanilla" ones, you will lose a lot of space
