Some Questions
So I have run into some things I need to know about.

First of all, I am running out of daily comfort. I have both the zeppelins, but there is apparently no other way of generating mroe. I assumed the comfort workshop would do that exact thing, but it only produces consumable items and not passive production. Having to use one item every day is beyond stupid.
I really hope I am missing some way to generate more, besides leveling up the city.

Then there is the issue of food production chains. If you produce quality items with upgraded recepies, you can not set a limit on them, because they seemingly only respect the limit of the low quality items. Is there a way to make the recepies look at the maximum of the quality foods?
Having production on full blast all the time is taking a toll on ressources so overproduction hurts kinda bad. (Water and Fertilizer)

The wiki page has all the info I already wrote here. But I guess that confirms that there is no other way of producing comfort.

What you mentioned about minimum stock has no relation to the problem I mentioned. Which is having a maximum stock in place for quality foods to not overproduce them. Minimums dont help with that at all.

From wiki:
Your colony will restore itself maintenance and comfort points daily, at a rate of its level x 20:
A colony level 1 will restore 20 maintenance and comfort points daily.
A colony level 4 will restore 80 points daily.
>So level up your colony in order to improve your confort.

The amount of Comfort Items transformed and the resulting Comfort points for your colony will depend on your Zeppelin's technology level.
So improve your tech level.

Also have this in mind:
Residential buildings will consume comfort points. The amount will depend on the amount of tenants and the residential type.

When building an extra platform for your colony, you can specialize it to increase your maintenance or comfort capacity by an extra 100 points.

Sum up of technologies related to comfort:
Comfortable Living increases both: your residential buildings base morale bonus and their comfort consumption per tenant.
Comfort Item Tracking (0/6) the probability to find Comfort Items in the outside is increased.
Zeppelin (0/6) allows the construction of a Zeppelin Infrastructure. It will daily transform Comfort Items into Colony's Comfort points.

I am sorry for the misunderstandiung. In my first sentence I wrote that I already have both zeppelins, so it is maximum tech level already.

So yeah, I was looking for an additional way to get comfort, I am aware of leveling up the city itself.

I literally have every technology maxed out in every tree, except comfortable living, wich I intentionally left out to save daily comfort points, as morale is not an issue at all.

The essential downward spiral I am running into is:
Too much food is produced, due to the lack of maximum limits on quality foods - > need more fertilizer and water to make more farms (and/or to keep all of them going) - > promoting sanitarians for more fertilizer production - > not enough comfort due to increased consumption of higher level people in residential

I am aware that increasing the city level will increase daily comfort, but there is a minimum of residents to unlock the next level. You get way more people than you can support with the comfort increase from the city itself.

Different quality items are... different items. You would need to set limits on them separately.

I would say this is the game itself, and how to solve the problem :)

Different quality items are... different items. You would need to set limits on them separately.
You cannot do this tho. The kitchen does not care. That is the issue. If I set my kitchen to make Burgers. And set a limit on quality burgers of 50k. They will just produce them endlessly as their 'only' product are low quality burgers. If you set a limit on low quality burgers it works, but that is useless as you produce less low quality ones than high quality ones. And putting only low quality in the larder will not work, because you need way way more production then.

The opposite are the corporate buildings. Producing a core doc has a chance to produce an invention core doc. Setting a limit on those two will respect both of them and make it stop producing core docs when the limits are reached.
The kitchen does not work this way though. Wich is an issue.
The thing is that when you start cooking something you don't know what will be its final quality, but I see your point... maybe, while not perfect, the workaround would to set limits for the needed resources to produce it, but... you may need them for other productions, so in that case it is not an acceptable solution.
At game level, If it would be possible to reach a 100% chance to produce in superior quality it should be controllable, so you know from start what you are producing.
