The beginning is just slower and tense.
I started in ultra and with the neutral corporation, my only problems were created by a lack of knowledge about maintenance production and also that I did not notice that we could remake seeds with a vegetal directly, without having to regenerate damaged seeds every time or to produce influence to buy pineapple seeds.
The storms, even with a shield with enough energy, should be able to cause limited damage and/or there is a risk that the energy and/or shield generators may break down in a storm (overload), requiring an emergency repair.
There should be consequences for the settlers to cut off the power completely. I often switch the current to 0 everywhere, if the shield consumes too much.
The colonists could lose morale, be unable to feed themselves ... even if it could trigger a panic or something like that.
The hydroponic crops could die if the building does not have enough energy.
The platforms without energy may have an increased risk of malfunction that will need to be repaired.
There may also be more sudden disasters that leave little time to prepare.
Also, review the mode of operation of the research on storms. Instead of spending Invention Documents to increase the level of 20%, it could simply speed up the work of weather drones (with a maximum limit, ex : x5 speed), or even that it is Cores Invention Documents that allow to add a direct bonus for studying the storm.
Finally, it would probably have random events to break a little monotony. It's still surprising that no one gets hurt while working. That buildings never have technical problems.
