Can't play with friends. Friends can't find lobby. Probably going to refund.

I bought 3 copies of the game. Gave 2 to my kids. We're all in the same physical room. Made lobby that's friends only. Click invite friend on the menu and individually invite both of them.
They click accept. Game launches. Only displays public lobbies. My lobby is not in any list, even after 10 minutes.

Google search reveals no results on this topic. Other than people complaining about other people starting public lobbies and kicking non friends.

Why is there no guide on how to do this. Why isn't there a button to accept invite and directly go to friend's lobby? Why isn't there a filter to only show friend's lobbies?

Just join through steam or invite them when you host

We found that the game had to be open while we clicked the accept invite button. Clicking it while the game was not open would only open the game. Idk why. And that felt awkward on the steam deck, but we figured it out. Thanks

I verified files on steam and it worked right away

when in doubt ALWAYS verify game files

verify files is a go to. just noticed my game didnt load any lobbies and anyone joining my custom lobby got an auto disconnect. verifying solved it for me, so its at least worth checking
