📢 Minor Update — Difficulty Options for ALL games

Hey! Hope you are all doing great.

We've been reading many feedback about the game feeling too challenging since the last update — especially for solo players or smaller teams.

We really want the game to be fun and flexible for everyone, and we want everyone to be happy. So today we’re rolling out a small update that adds a bit more breathing room for those who want it (we made one a couple of days ago, but we went a little deeper in this one)

🛠️ Difficulty Options when you create a game

You can pick between Easy, Normal, or Hard — which will adjust quotas, earnings, price of medkits and a few other balancing tweaks to better fit your style of play. Whether you're running solo or playing casually with friends, you now have more control over your experience.

We also made a few additional tweaks based on your feedback — like rebalancing the sewer, life back to 50 instead of 25 when you respawn after death, adjusting the trampoline, adding more medkits, and other small things that should smooth things out.

These are small changes, but we hope they help make your sessions more fun, fair, and flexible — and just know we’ll keep listening and improving things along the way 💛

Please either go back to the amount needed spread out in the three attempts, or allow us to do so in settings. To stack it all in one go makes the game more of a job versus actually being fun anymore. It feels like a grind and took away the original fun of the game play!...

🎉 OUR MAJOR UPDATE IS LIVE!! 🎉

(Yes, I know I told you this was happening two days ago… but THIS time, it’s today😎)

The update is now officially out

We’re honestly so freakin’ excited (and a little nervous) to finally share it this with you. We've been working like maniacs on it, and we can’t wait to see what you think!! Quick reminder of what's inside (in case you didn’t read my last 12 messages 😅).

We've reworked tons of systems, added new content, balancing, small surprises and of course fixed a bunch of bugs, and hopefully made The Headliners even more fun, chaotic, and satisfying to play.

💵 Photos now give you real in-game cash — no more fixed payouts
🎯 Objectives are now per-run, not spread across 3 sessions
🛒 New shop in the lobby with gear, cameras, medkits, fireworks & more
🌉 New outside map: Brooklyn Bridge // and interiors too :)
🎒 Loot can now spawn inside AND outside
👽 New aliens, survivors, and NPCs
📸 Improved gallery UI + duplicate photo rework and feedback
📺 New end-of-run recap screen
🐛 Lots of bug fixes, performance boosts, and little surprises

We’ve also tweaked the difficulty since our beta to make things more balanced and fun—especially around money and early-game pressure. Let us know how it feels!

This game is great. We go in, with 0 brain cells and have the best time.
The update, kinda ruined it??? Only one door to go into, and we take mad fall damage now. ;-; 1/10 was not expecting.

Hey everyone! Hope you’re all doing great. We’ve got an exciting news to share 👇

The Major Update lands this Thursday!

This is by faaaaar the biggest update we’ve ever done, and if you haven’t been following the dev updates, here’s a quick recap of what’s coming:

📸 Photos now have directly a dollar value (in-game, obviously😊), you earn money directly based on what you capture
🎯 Objectives are per-session, not cumulative, making each run more focused, rewarding, and impactful.
🛍️Shop in the lobby with many new items: cameras, armors, fireworks & more
🎒 Loot can now spawn both inside AND outside
👽 Lots of new enemies & NPCs (including survivors!)
🌉 Brand new map: Brooklyn Bridge
🛠️ Many level & game design tweaks
📺 New recap screen at the end of runs
⚙️ Better performance & bug fixes
... And many more things 🙂

What’s new since the Beta Test?

Once again (and I know I repeat myself, but I don't care): to those of you who helped us during the beta — thank you SO much! 💛 We've added new content, rebalanced things, and fixed a lot of what you reported:

📊 We tweaked the difficulty to make it a bit more forgiving while keeping the challenge
💵 You can now earn money for your pictures even if you don’t reach the quota
🩹 More medkits in the store
📸 Better feedback on duplicate photos, and improved UI in the gallery + HUD
🎨 UI icons have been cleaned up for all items
🎶 Placeholder NPC voices and others have been replaced
👤 Added 1 new NPC and 1 new enemy 👀
⌛ Countdown warning now shows up to avoid surprise endings
🦶 Slight nerf to Big Foot (he had it coming)
🎁 And... a few small surprises we won’t spoil 😉
🐛 Plus more bug fixes & optimization improvements

As I said, we’ve carefully rebalanced the difficulty to make things a bit more forgiving 😊. We’re still keeping an eye on it, so if it still feels off, don’t worry—we’re listening and open to adjusting more!

Lost three friends, both legs, and my camera. Got the shot. Worth it.

This game is complete nonsense in the best way. It’s like Content Warning and Lethal Company got drunk, invited R.E.P.O. over, and all three started a band made of screaming aliens and exploding cameras.

You run around with your friends, trying to take the most insane, gory, ridiculous photos while everything around you is actively trying to kill you—or amputate you for fun. One minute you’re laughing at your buddy falling in a pit, the next you’re clutching a blurry photo of a tentacle monster eating a vending machine and screaming “this better go viral.”

Out of all the “team of idiots in danger” games, this one’s easily my favorite. It’s just so damn wacky. Everything feels like it’s 5 seconds away from falling apart, and somehow that makes it perfect.

10/10, would lose another limb for the perfect shot.

Classic example of a potentially great party game brought down by posing as a roguelike.
And, like all games, the stamina system only detracts from gameplay, and offers nothing to benefit the experience.
You die in a level, you lose your high level camera, get no money, and then WILL fail the next attempt because you do not have a bonus to score from your camera. Tough luck, restart your lobby and sit through the boring first 3 levels to get back to anything interesting.
Also, in later levels it REALLY seems like a literal die roll of "does the big dino or slender man spawn to cause a lot of explosions, or do you get the big bat again, which does minimal explosions, and spends almost no time on the ground to pose near corpses / enemies to increase photo score.
Also,
The duplicate photo system sucks. Camera auto selecting the far left, aka MOST valuable photo after deleting something WILL result in you accidentally deleting your best photo on accident. Ridiculous to default to the left.
TLDR
This will be playable when it is added to R2Modman.

I have one major gripe with this game

It really really sucks how punishing it is; not because of the challenge but because it sucks when you are playing with friends and you get some really funny photos you can't wait to share-- and then you get instant killed and the footage is lost they can't get it. So you have these great moments you want to show your friends, but can't, they are lost. I get losing the money aspect, but I wish there was a computer or something where lost images got backed up to on a cloud service or something idk. It's a...
