Hey everyone! The beta is now LIVE and open to anyone who wants to jump in and try it out!

⚠️ DISCLAIMER: You may encounter serious bugs, balancing issues or whatever. It's the first time we test with many players. So please be aware of that. Consequently and ideally, we would prefer not players to stream it 🙂 Also you can play only with people with the same version as you. So as soon as you have the beta version, you can only play with others beta testers.

Here’s how to access it:

• Go to your Steam Library
  
• Right-click on The Headliners → Properties
  
• Go to the Betas tab
  
• Enter this code: UD6ZTVN6GYDL
  
• Select the beta branch and let it update!

There are a lot of changes in this version—so you might feel a little lost at first (you’ve been warned :) ). But that’s also why we need you! Feel free to drop your feedback and report bugs on our Discord. Also maybe prioritize normal games, rather than custom ones, unless you really want to be more than 4.

Hey everyone! We’re opening a beta test version between April 17th and April 21th, and we’d love your help to bug-test and give feedback on our newest version! 🙏

It’s a pretty big update already, with tons of improvements and additions:

• 🧠 Significant performance optimization (yipee!)
  
• 🗺️ A brand new map: Brooklyn
  
• 🧭 Level design tweaks
  
• 👽 New enemies & NPCs (survivors and other)
  
• 🎒 Loot that can now spawn outside AND inside
  
• 📸 A revamped scoring system and quota objectives
  
• 📺 A new recap screen at the end of sessions
  
• 🛍️ A new shop with fresh items, cameras, armors, fireworks and more!
  
• ...and a bunch of small improvements across the board!

We’re still putting the final touches on some of this, but your early feedback would help a lot to make everything more polished before the public launch.

✅ The beta will be open to anyone who wants to help, from April 17th to 21st. We’ll share all the instructions soon, and we’ll use the #beta-testing channel on our Discord to gather your feedback and chat about it.

Just wanted to share some news with you all! We’ve been (and still are) working on a big update that’s planned to release in May, and we’re super excited about it. There’s a lot going into it, and while we’re not ready to reveal everything just yet (we don’t want to spoil all the surprises 👀), we still want to keep you in the loop!

So, I’ll be posting regular updates to give you a peek at some of the things we’ve been working on—new features, changes, improvements, and more. Just small bites of info here and there to show you the direction we’re going 🙂

We’re working on a new map, called Brooklyn! It’s got a different feel, with a rooftop to climb, fire escapes, and more lighting in the streets. (And yes, we’ll fix those ladders, promise 😅). One of my best friends did the street art on the walls— he’s super talented!

We’re improving the session objectives & results: From now on, your photos will have money values, and finishing above quota will just mean more money to spend. We’re also adding a BONUS system that rewards the diversity of your pictures—especially if you manage to snap several different types of aliens.

We’re also adding a Store in the Lobby, where random items will appear at the start of each session (including cameras). Oh and cameras are now modular, with 4 components: quality, capacity, zoom, and flash. Every run, you’ll be able to buy new ones, between 4 random camera builds... We’re also adding a bunch of new items, but I’ll share more about that soon 🙂

We’ve already added 2 new aliens and 1 new fun NPC — but I won’t spoil too much yet. Here’s a little clue though: If it lights you up… just run. Don’t look back.

There are lots of other things we’re working on, and we’re testing a lot right now. Also, I need to tell you that we are making great progress in optimization and perf! And of course we keep fixing bugs and any other issues...

We’ll keep updating you, and we’re planning a playtest around mid to late April if you want to help us balance things out!

Hey everyone! First things first—THANK YOU! More than 650,000 of you have played The Headliners, and honestly, that number is just insane. We’re beyond happy... thank you ❤️

I wanted to give you a little update on what we’re working on with Bruno! Our next update is going to be a pretty big one, so it will take us more time. We will release this one in May. We’re still actively fixing bugs you report and will release patches in the meantime that could even include some more content. Will let you know !

One of the biggest things we’re focusing on right now is revamping the Progression System. We want runs to feel more rewarding and to give players more tools and goals to work towards. That means rethinking how you earn money, adjusting objectives to make headlines, adding systems to reward exploration (especially in the interiors), and introducing a whole new shop with more useful objects to help you out. From the tests we’ve done so far, it’s already feeling really promising! Oh, and of course—we’ve been cooking up some new aliens and NPCs too, among many other things. Not spoiling anything just yet 👀

Since this update will bring a lot of changes, we’ll likely be reaching out to you for playtesting at some point. Your feedback will be super important in helping us balance everything and make sure it all feels great.

• "Friends Only" Option Can Now Be Changed Mid-Session 👥

• Pulpo & Insect attacks are no longer always lethal 🦑🐜 – You might survive… if you're lucky.
  
• Batogon behavior & speed adjusted 🦇 – Slightly more balanced encounters.
  
• Scoring system improved 📸 – Should now better reflect what you actually see in-game.

• Increased max headlines displayed in HQ during late game 📰
  
• Fixed various collision & physics issues in exterior areas 🏙️

Custom Games Mode – You can now tweak your experience with:

• Up to 8 players! (⚠️ We strongly recommend the host has the best PC & internet, as it can be heavy on performance.)
  
• Adjustable danger levels – Set the minimum level of chaos you want.
  
• More control over spawns– Customize the number of survivors, military units, and traps in your game, how early the huge creature can spawn...

Fixes & Improvements: Improved Pulpo physics, new Shiny alien visuals, updated cinema posters, various bug fixes & optimizations 🛠️

Just a quick heads-up—I may have been a bit too optimistic about the timing of the next update. Turns out, it needs more balancing and polish, so we’re pushing it back to the end of next week to make sure we fix a few things first. I'm really super sorry about that! We’re working as fast as we can. 🙏 But I promise the update will be fun !

For those who experience motion sickness, we’ve got you! The next update will include a "No Head Bobbing" option. That said, you may still feel a little shaken when getting absolutely obliterated… but hey, at least running is more comfortable! 😅

Hey everyone!

Hope you’re all doing great! Just wanted to drop in with an update on what we’re working on. This isn’t exactly a roadmap, but it should give you a good idea of what’s coming next!

More than 350,000 of you have played The Headliners! That’s absolutely HUGE, and we can’t thank you enough for all the support. ❤️

Bruno and I haven’t taken a single day off since launch—we’ve been fully focused on fixing bugs and improving the game as much as possible. Some of these bugs have been tricky since they only happen in specific conditions (VPNs, localization issues, etc.), but we’re optimistic that most will be fixed soon!
... Of course, fixing one thing can sometimes create new bugs, so we’re taking the time to do things right while moving as fast as we can. Thank you for your patience!

We’re also rushing to have a new content update ready by the end of next week, BUT we need to make sure everything is tested properly before release. If needed, it may take an extra week, but trust us — we’re going as fast as one can!

Here’s what’s planned for this next update:

You have been a LOT (like a lot) to ask for this. So we’re actively exploring adding modding support through a Creator Kit. This is a big task, so while it’s one of our top priorities, it will take at least a couple of months before it’s fully ready.

To speed things up, we’re considering launching a limited version first and looking into getting some extra help to make it happen faster. We’ll keep you posted!

We see ALL your suggestions— and even if we can’t add everything, we’re reading and considering them for future updates! Keep them coming.

Right now, we’re simply moving as fast as we can, and we haven’t had the time to properly estimate how long some features will take to develop. That’s why we don’t have a full roadmap yet—but don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated!
