Went back to 1080p again, seems more stable once more. Its better to drop resolution than drop visual options still.
Need to do more extensive tests, I am now at work and will need to come back to this later tonight. So far I tested the simple stuff.
Profile creations, simple car customization and car purchase, test drive for buying a car also seems to work just fine, the data is saved properly on reload and all information is kept, I tried the 1st special event so far, seems to be working fine. Tried practice, still seems to be working fine. And got as far as trying out a race against AI. Done a very quick race, Brands Hatch Indy, 9 opponents, 1 lap, starting from the front of the grid, 85% AI difficulty, just to see if everything works.
At the end of the race it says that data cannot be found (the screen that is supposed to show us our position, xp and credits). So we have no idea how this effects our profile progression and currency accumulation.
Did this twice. 1 time it went offline. I clicked online again and I got a bunch of credits. So it was sent to the server but did not update on my end? Something happened there because I was given progression retroactively.
The second time the same thing happened with "no data information" message but I remained online. I got the progression straight away.
Need to test this out more. Do we get more credits for more opponents? Harder AI? Longer races? Starting back of the grid and positions gained? All this I need to see how you have implemented. If none of this work atm this can be exploited for easy quick currency accumulation.
Need to run more tests in longer AI races to see what happens and other tracks, I am curious as to see if this is due to my race setup, or a general issue.
Will test out driving academy as well when I come back from work.
Also, where are the car rentals? I assume at a race or practice where we pick our car selection? I didn't try this, I just looked at the dealership option and I did not notice a rental option there. Not sure if this is intended or not.
So far so good guys. Love to have a progression system in place to make buying a car more personal. We have games were everything is just handed to us for free. I feel already more connected to my choices and by extension my car simply due to that restriction.
I just hope the progression is something that is fun, linear, and not too grindy, as you mention we can just do whatever we want and collect credits, this is good, but at the same time making it too easy and exploitable makes it meaningless. Just becomes a needless obstacle small hurdle to jump over so we can unlock everything in the game. I hope this is not the case.
If this is the case for EA so we can test things all good, but we need to know if any of this progression actually means anything going forward or are we going to have wipes? I assume we will have wipes until you sort it out? Which is kind of a bummer as again it makes the progression (for now) meaningless.
That is more or less my thoughts so far on the update, need to test licenses out too in academy and see the system fleshed out more.
All in all, a great update. Good to see online is working. I was getting rather worried we are almost 1 month into EA. And I enjoy the online approach. Should do well for an online community and economy, I love it. Hope you stick the landing with it and sort out the progression speed. Too fast makes it pointless. Too slow makes it tiresome and annoying. It needs to feel like every credit you get means something and your choices mean something and everything is more personal, so being free-fed credits is a no go. But it also should not feel like we are sweating for hours to get a sticker either.
End of the day, the worse of the two options is the long grind. So if you can't balance it too easily and getting credits slightly faster than intended is a better option than getting them too slowly. Its always the better option. So please don't make it a grind fest. I am not playing a Korean mmo.
Thats it for now, again need to do more extensive tests on all the new content and see what is what.
I like how special events also allows us to straight up use any car for that event without having it. I thought we might need the car to enter the event in the first place. Good thing we don't.
Getting currency for a special event is something I would look into, but perhaps at a lower rate? idk. This would ensure that ALL content can go towards us leveling up.
Keep up the great work guys. Looking forward to next update.
I'm having some problems with newest update.
I tried to play academy but when i started license grey window with asseto logo shown and my pc just rebooted (tried 3 times). Then i did the drivers update and since then game wont launch anymore. Anyone having the same issue?
My setup:
7800x3D
32 GB RAM
rtx 3080
Try to restart everything completely maybe.
I hope future updates will improve, because this is unplayable.
No need for testing this early acces now.
@Moffit
Natural reaction for monkeys, yes, their banana is not in reach so they prance about slapping the ground angrily. For evolved human beings with half a brain and maturity its not natural. Its childish animal behaviour.
@Laser
No, that is what you get for trying out Early Access and expecting it to be a completed game. Its on you. Kunos are just getting support and continuing their work, business as usual, to better improve their game. You on the other hand are having tantrums like a chimpanzee jumping around and losing your cool like a baby. I would say that is what you get, not Kunos. Hope you aren't losing any sleep over this either.
Go read up what Early Access means. Here let me help you with elements to look for:
Unfinished work.
Work that needs testing.
Work that can be shaped through feedback during the active development phase.
Laters.
Yeah Kunos should have kept the gam eto themselves until the 1.0 is ready, and then on release day everything comes crashing down like it did with for example Cities Skylines 2 /s
Why do you think they release an early access? smh
dude, its an early access release.
Do you understand what that means?
It means the game is incomplete and might not work as intended or as you expect of a 1.0 release.
Steam literally gives you the description, read it smh.
If you dont want to play Early Access games, then dont buy them and wait for the final release

exactly... but monkeys be monkeys, I doubt they will ever understand. they are keeping humanity back with their entitled baby behaviour. says a lot about how these monkeys were brought up.
go to settings Display and hud . and enable the switch for Online. mode ... enjoy .. it might take a second to be ready
