Player count right now doesn't affect the gameplay even a little bit. With no multiplayer, the number of players doesn't change the gameplay in any way.
The only thing it affects is revenue for Kunos and 505. I would think they should have expected weak player numbers for the earliest parts of the early access. We will probably never know though, most companies don't talk about their bottom line publicly. In the big picture though, they are still getting useful free testing from the dedicated fans that make up the current player counts. They are probably still running at a loss right now, but again, that is to be expected at this stage.
They said "hopefully" next week, so I expect the information to be available early next week, and the update, ideally, by the end of next week.
Lack of communication is the biggest problem for some developers. If they were honest, it would save many people the time of constantly searching the web for news, but they don't care.
EDIT: just see this News and there i see the Update is WEEKS away
https://boxthislap.org/assetto-corsa-evo-still-weeks-away/
The developers' inability to honestly and transparently admit on ALL sales platforms that development is delayed is a clear breach of trust in the Early Access supporters.
The roadmap is a deception.
Sim racing as a hobby is still quite young. However, it is quite clear that as it increases in popularity, so to does the shallow act of fleecing the main user base. open your eyes people, its not just software, the hardware cost for what it is, is disgusting.
it is life i'm afraid and its everywhere not just in our little tiny pool of tranquil waters
for the impatient who want it all now
I love what I see in EVO so far, there's just not much to play at the moment. When the next
update is released I will be all over it. These things take time and I was fully aware of that when I purchased. No doubt that there will be an excellent game at the end of it. Now, back to Schedule 1
real simracers are all in original AC or ACC, but not this
hahah. True that
