Assetto Corsa EVO

Panorama Track - Which One is Correct?
Swapping back and forth between original AC and EVO's Panorama tracks reveals some starling differences. For instance, turn 2 in AC is off-cambered and a little wider, with more runout and a berm effect. EVO is not. But that's not the only turn. Check it out for yourself in your favorite car and see what you think.

My question is, since they were both "laser scanned", which one is correct? For me, I can get a great flow going on the AC track, whereas I feel like I am fighting the EVO track all the way around. Is there anyone who has driven it in real life that can tell us the difference? Has it changed over the years? What do you think?

Thank You,
Scrench

Tracks are changed (in the real world) on a semi regular basis. I don't know Bathurst that well, so I can't answer directly but EVO probably reflects what the track is like now, rather than 10 years ago.
Are you talking about AC or ACC because AC never had an official version of bathurst.
I've driven around it quite a bit and no game actually gets it right coming down the mountain as you don't feel your stomach dropping and the sheer drops those corners have but EVO is definitely the best so far in terms of positioning of the turns and rises in the circuit plus you can see the top of the mountain clearly whilst going up the straight which is excellent. The braking zone at the end of Conrod straight (the long back straight) is spot on exactly how it is in real life and I love how they have the correct sponsors around the track, really adds to the immersion

Looking forward to the a.i getting some work so we can enjoy the mountain even more, doing hot laps is still bloody fun around there in the meantime, each lap getting that bit more grip so you can push harder, This game is going to rock come 1.0

As far as i've seen from actual gt3 racers testing this game the version in this game is the same laser scanned track in ACC.

ShamefulManny,

Much to my chagrin, you are right. I've downloaded so many other tracks for AC that I forgot that Panorama didn't come with the game originally. And based on what Lens007888 tells us from real-life experience on the track, EVO must have it correctly. I forget what designer I downloaded it from in AC, but I understand why he made it more forgiving with the banked and wider turns, which allowed me to drive wide-open with most cars. But I'm glad to know that with EVO, I'm driving the proper layout.

Lens007888, have you tried Bathurst in Automobilista 2, 1.6? You should, as it seems to capture the descent-side of the mountain better, but I'd be interested in your take.

Thanks to everyone who responded., and sorry for the false alarm.

Forgot to mention, Lens007888, thank you for both of those videos, and yes, that is the course I'm driving in EVO, with the exception of turn 10 I think it is, the first part of the S starting back down the hill. It seems like EVO has that one a little tighter. The rest, spot on.
