Assetto Corsa EVO

Assetto Corsa EVO

This is a lesson to learn
I clearly remember that when it was announced, and for a long time, it was never mentioned that this was going to be an Early Access release. Kunos always implied it was going to be a 1.0 release to then build on a solid foundation.

Suddenly, a few months before the release date, they started talking about phased content, moving forward with a schedule that would add more cars and tracks.

Finally, very close to the release, the title 'Early Access' started appearing on Steam, as the studio traditionally publishes. This leaves us with a version 0.1 that is really far from what was promised during the pre-release marketing.

I still bought it. Because I trust Kunos and have spent every dollar on each of the DLCs of their previous games.

But I hope the lesson is learned by the studio. Reading these threads, it's clear that most people do not understand what Early Access is and expect 1.0 version performance and stability. Most people do not want to wait and request refunds without understanding that this version is neither optimized nor polished and is far from what the game will be in a year.

Most studios use Early Access to continue funding themselves while finishing the games, but first impressions always count, and Kunos has not been careful enough to be clear with its audience from the start.

I hope, for the good of the buyers and the studio, that we quickly reach a more functional and stable version. Especially in the VR department which is very far from seeming like the priority it was always said to be.

But why should anyone care if it's Early Access? They want money for it, and they want 30$. If they want money, then we demand quality, and everyone has right to post a review how the game is... I don't understand, if the game is so uncomplete, even in many cases unplayable. Why they don't release some closed beta testing, for people who would want to try it? Instead they want 30$, so we will test their game. This is pure cancer, and companies should be banned from Steam for releasing DEMO unplayable games, with missing content.

Probably after like a year it will be a good game, but yeah... "PROBABLY, MAYBE, AFTER XX TIME...", then release the game when it will be ready. Or atleast make some closed beta testing, for free. And instead they release a product for 30$, wanting money now... For a unfinished product... And to be clear i did not expect finished product, when they said that it is Early Access i was sure. That base of the game is polished, now just they need to add content, and that's why they release it for 30$ right now. BUT NO!!! This is a alpha game, that has problems in every aspect! Game not launching for people, graphical glitches, VR not working, missing content, no online, problems with steering wheels, no smoke under tires. This is a complete disaster right now. And if it was in closed beta testing i would be fine with it. But asking 30$ and saying it's 'Early Access' it's just a scam

It's all sketchy. Nothing is crystal clear since the reveal, and now there must be a very big red warning in the store page to tell people it's in this state. There's no right to ask 30 bucks for this version of the game.
Completly agree! My opinion is that, it should be released as 'closed beta test' on their website, alot of people would want to test it(also it should be free to test, like maybe for limited list of people(example Path Of Exile 2)), and make some ingame setting to report bugs, website report system. Fix the most common problems, hardware issues, graphical issues, compatibility issues. Add some content, that people would spend hours in it. I mean just a few different cars, online mode, some different events like drift circuits etc. And then release it as 'Early Access', it would be not perfect, but a good base. Slowly release content, and when everything is finished as they promised, ask full price. Even i would be OK, for them asking more price, like another 30$ if i want a full release game(of course we should me informed about that before buying Early Access). Instead they act like Ubisoft... And look where is Ubisoft now.

We must've been reading different sources, because I've understood since this was originally announced that this 1st release was going to be early access. The original AC was early access too, and the communication about EVO has always made it clear that the initial content was going to be limited.

I've got my own issues with it in its current state, but do think it has as solid foundation to build from and am really enjoying myself with the content we got. The driving feels better, more realistic, and more challenging. And it's really nice to have good looking environments. Even with all the nice graphics that CSP adds to AC, many if not most of the tracks look 10 years older, graphics-wise, than the cars driving on them.
Ya this isn't new at all. You dudes just didn't read the EA road map that was clearly printed months ago. Stop the belly aching.
