Assetto Corsa EVO

Force feedback
For me wheel FF is not much communicative, i'm heavily relying on muscle memory so far.

Driving the Honda S2000 i can't feel much nor he front nor the rear end. Which is pretty strange as that's a little and quite lively car.

Even curbs and braking give very little feedback to me.

Is it just me? Fanatec CSL DD 8nm here.
BTW: Played almost all the sims of the last 25 yrs, including AC and ACC of course (and loved them).

I'm with you. I really miss the FF. I'm using a G29

Same just a heavy wheel

slip angle and trailbraking on the edge feels decent for me. like the basis is there. but as soon as you have oversteer / understeer feeling goes 0.
simucube 20nm and like 27% ffb gain

I have the same issue with the same wheel as you. Hardly any force feedback at all with any car.

Yes, that's basically the feeling.
Simucube 1, gains tested between 30 and 80. generally s2000 feels decent, but at oversteer needs much much more feeling to have proper control. At current state, very unpredictable.

Have you tried the settings that have been suggested on the https://assettocorsa.gg site?

evo page is dead, I tried the settings that I found in the past days but some options are not even in the game :\

Some findings: FF feels better for me if :

1) I drastically lower dynamic and minimum damper to < 20
2) I reduce speed sensitivity and steering filter
3) I raise vibrations to about 70

It's easier to have a clue of weight transfer, with less dampening.
It's a bit jerky imho, but at least i can appreciate it.

Tried driving the MX-5 cup (manual) all assists off (as usual).

Such settings don't improve the feeling on braking and on different surfaces (curbs, grass). That's still weak, but at least make car feedbck less "muddy" and overfiltered.

Imho.

To be fine-tuned.

Those official settings are fine. However, it doesn't address the issue. It feels like too much Damping no matter what settings are used. Even when I set all Damping settings to 0 and disable the Fanatec software NDP and Damper so they're both off, there's still what feels like baked in damper to control the oscillations. That's okay, and it's fun and I got used to it, but it's less crisp and sharp than it could be otherwise. And so it's not as raw and informative at relating info on the limit as AC1. The FFB of AC1 is so good and powerful, and so informative that you can drive by feel on the limit, (great for drifting too) even without g forces. However, I understand that a real car's wheel doesn't actually provide that much info. So even though ACE might be more realistic in that way, perhaps there could be a legacy setting allowing for the choice between the two approaches? An option to have the FFB of AC, or the FFB of ACE. That way those who want it to feel maximally informative will have it, and those who prefer the wheel to behave like a real car's wheel will have that option. Everybody wins.

Yes, too much dampening.

That said i don't think current FF is "nuanced" enough.
It's jerky and raw and specially NOT communicative in braking.

The braking is what bugs me the most.
Without assists it just doesn't feel right imho.

Logitech G923 here, absolutely terrible FFB in ACE. Basically nothing from the wheel except maybe a little weight. Curbs feel smooth, nothing at all to indicate what the tyres are doing. Even just turning all the sliders to 0 only makes it slightly lighter. Feels absolutely terrible.
