But yes, less all just gloss over these facts and pretend these serious problems dont exist. Lets keep letting more and more companies get away with this sh*t so we keep getting shafted year after year.

Yeah, that's not what I said. We all know it has performance problems and bugs, that's why it's EARLY ACCESS. If you want to wait for a polished 1.0 level product, just wait for a polished 1.0 release. Wait to read reviews.

Early access is for folks that know they're going to get something that is unfinished, and are okay with it. Sort yourself appropriately.

For VR dont use any upscaling and it seems the graphic settings are useless within vr.

Go to Desktop mode, disable upsaling and set any other option as you like.
In steamvr or whatever start by setting resolution per eye at 0.8
Start ACE and see if it works.
When it does go to eye resoulution 0.9 and so on.
In the official ACE Forum someone mentioned ACE is eating a lot of Graphics VR RAM.

I noticed the FPS counter is around 45 FPS, no matter what ist set in the graphics configuration.

And be calm, its early access!

GPU: RTX 4070
CPU: AMR Ryzen 9 5900X
Meta Quest 3
SteamLink & SteamVR with set to OpenXR

Great I will try this when I have time.

How does it look for you? I have an rtx 4070 and Quest 3 as well.

For the curious, this is a 30fps capture from my Quest 3, using the built-in recorder. The game itself was running at 90fps once the field spread out a bit.

7800X3D/4090 using Virtual Desktop (High, 90hz), with some tweaks in OpenXR Toolkit to cut down the FoV, enable Fixed Foveated Rendering, and downsample the resolution a bit.

There is no FSR or DLSS, I'll try those later. Most settings are around the mid to high level, except for grass, which is all the way off.

The in-game resolution for the ^^ above video is a bit above 4k. For comparison, I can run the original Assetto Corsa at close to 8k. Hopefully things improve with the new one!
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9750X3D
GPU: RTX 4080 Super
VR HMD: Pimax Crystal

ACC FPS on medium settings: 90+ FPS
AC Evo FPS on very low settings: 30-40 fps

Like, come on. Really hope this new graphics engine can be significantly optimized in future updates. Because if not, I won't be buying this game again (submitted a refund).

jeeze, considering all their promises on how vr was at the forefront of their considerations this is rather disappointing.
i know this is still very very early access (why though, why not just cook for another year), but i dont think this game is going to sell well, which is crazy, because it could have been massive for sim racing. as it is i think most people will just stay with assetto corsa 1.

give it a year or two though, and we will see. by then it might be out of early access and if so we might be getting mod support which might fix some of the issues.
6900xt
Ryzen 7 5800x
HP Reverb G2

Artefacts in studio/main menu in 3D scene.
If FSR is enabled, artefacts everywhere.
Have to disable FSR for remotely playable. 30-40fps on mostly medium. Can get it to 60+ but everything is low and looks like arse.

Hopefully will improve alot. ACC performs pretty good and if very playable @ 60-80fps.

this is sounding worse than ea wrc, that never improved. so even if this improves (i get it, early access) it will still be ♥♥♥♥. they boasted about how great vr was, i dont get it.

at least this, from my understanding, used forward rendering, so its actually possible for them to optimize it for vr, which it wasnt for ea wrc. i am still very very skeptical though. if a 4090 is struggling. the rest of us normies are fkd.

Ratboggies, what you fail to realise is that they said VR would be supported in early release. So you saying people "fail to realise" how a early release works is an ignorant comment. They choose to say it will be available so therefore it should work.
It's absolute rubbish at the moment, the devs should have said it's coming later.

whether its in EA or not, this is absolutely going to drive a ton of people away for a long time, if not for good. this feels like payday 3 all over again. a beloved franchise turned into a laughing stock and joke that nobody cares about anymore over stupid decisions.

ACC is terrible for me in VR, whereas AC looks so crisp and clean. I think it's due to the UE engine they used in ACC, doesn't mix well with VR.
Here is my capture

Why it's side-by-side I don't know. But it's glitchy and unplayable with FSR. Without, 30-40fps but still a bit glitchy with screen updates or head moves quickly.
I was really looking forward to playing this in VR at least I waited to buy it until after I read the comments this time.

Same here. Looks great on the monitor but with a quest 3 and uplink cable its pretty bad. The weird thing is in the car cabin looks good. But the track has textures pop in and out and gets all weird. Making me feel a little sick. Gotta keep in mind this is early access so can't really get too annoyed I guess.
Just buying for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheap price (27€)... maybe in one year this game will be nice... for now in VR is a mess... Meanwhile AUTOMOBILISTA 2 its gold.
