$40 for early access what?

If there was multiplayer or open-world then price would be reasonable but right now it’s crazy expensive.

You're getting all the content up until the 1.0 release as its ready. At a reduced price.

If you don't like that you can wait for it to get to 1.0 and pay $60

Then don't buy it. Early Access is essentially there for those wanting to support the game to 1.0, and even then release is not guaranteed. I've backed a number of Early Access titles and I'm sitting on a few that were abandoned before the finish line.

Perhaps you should wait until there is more content, though with that comes a higher price.

man, it's cheap. Lots of content to be added before launch for no extra price... you buy EA, you can wait! You get a discount for buying early because of this.

Sounds about right, you're not buying the current content, you're pre-ordering the full game for later release and getting the current version to play in the meantime. In return you get a discount on the final price.

Unless it's LMU of course where they release what they originally said was the base content across 4 DLC packs but that's a company in imminent danger of going under for you.
