The money will only be used to rent cars in online mode.
Online mode calculates race winnings for every race you run, when it works I easily made enough to buy some new cars. The problem is that right now most times it hangs coming out of a race and gives up, I haven't had race winnings all weekend
Don't listen to this. Stick with License missions. Races aren't a viable source of income atm.
I just had a 20 lap race in single player online with 22 AI and made 111,000 and change and bought another car. What are you talking about?
I've bought every car in the game and still have a cool mil for the upcoming Lancia and Lambo. The quickest and easiest way to get it is repeating the last license mission, Mt. Panorama with Ferrari Challenge. For the time it takes, there's no other mode that beats it in 0.1.5.1.
At your rate, $5.5k / lap, that's only a third of what the license missions offer at $15k / lap. That's before considering the bonus ($45k) I've been getting when I improve my laptime, so use that to your discretion.
The only exception would be if you can't complete a 2:18 or faster cleanly and repeatedly.
They all have 3 times on them, for 1, 2 or 3 stars - this should be on the hud when you're doing each one
The easiest way to gain credits is to do races, the longer the race and more expensive the car the higher the payout in XP and credits.
Usually though you will get an error message at the end of the race saying rewards could not be added at this time. However once back at the main menu screen the credits and XP should have been added; in my experience. You will eventually get a race finish screen adding on all the rewards you have accumulated.
You get around 1,500 credits and 15,000XP for a 5 minute race in entry cars and around 3,000 credits and 40,000XP per 10 min race in mid range sports cars. Super cars and hyper cars will be significantly more however you will have to factor in consumables costs for those categories of cars. The TLDR, longer races against higher AI levels in faster cars will payout more. The bulk of the credits you will receive will come from leveling up.
