open xr settings for vr?
title... i can't get it faster then 40 fps on very low settings... got an AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D, a rtx 4070 and 32 gb ddr 4 ram.. any help is appreciated

sorry forgot to add. i got the meta quest 3 and it is connected via link cable

My rtx 4070 on very low settings is running 36 fps (frame gen to 72 fps) in VR. Also Quest 3. Looks terrible compared to other car games in VR. Vram seems maxed out even on very low settings which is unusual. They need to fix vram usage before the rtx 4070 runs it in VR, then likely still much work to get it comparable to say Automobilista 2... Fingers crossed but I feel it'l be a long way away at best. There is supposedly an update coming for VR. Lets see how much it improves then

I use Virtual desktop by selecting low or potato and 150 mbs biltrate. Disable open xr tools and ssw in app VD disabled. With that I can reach 72 fps. I use rtx3070 with quest 3 and reach 7.5gb vram use . Poor image but I can drive at least. If kunos wants to get money, they know that they must optimize the game. I trust them and I think they will do it.

I'm using VD on high resolution and 500mbs bitrate. Textures in game on high and everything else set to the lowest. OpenXR tooling FSR set to %72 and I'm getting 85-90fps with a 3080 and a 13700k.

I Will test your options but I think 3080 has 12 gb VRAM and its a great adventage comparing with 3070 (8gb)

The 3080 has 2 versions and mine is the 10gb VRAM version so the advantage won't be that big over 8gb.

Einstein once said, "Human stupidity knows no bounds." The best example is the OP. My God, what's wrong with you all? Are you all 12 years old? This is an EA title where nothing has been optimized yet. You won't change that with an OPN XR, a 5090, or a €100,000 PC.

Well, you're absolutely right, but sometimes it's normal for us to like seeing progress from this EA.

Well, you're right, too, and I understand that.
I also want progress. However, anyone who buys an EA title needs to be aware that they're buying an unfinished game and can't expect everything to work 100% from day one.

I'm agree with you of course. I just show some options to have the chance to test the game a little bit better. I can't understand either why some people ask a game finished. Kunos made it clear from the start that it was early access. AC started years ago even worst than EVO.
