Not a single point of damage. Obviously the car was driven without assists with manual clutch and gearbox. My best time was a 2 12 with room for improvement as I never driven this car before.
So either something is wrong on your end or your driving technique is faulty.
I use an H-shifter (Moza HGP) and a Heusinkveldt Sprint clutch. I'm also very careful with engine brake.
I assume you're using street tires.
With SC tires, I do 2:07 lap times. Of course, I could also set 2:04 times regardless of the gearbox
The result is always the same. During the session, the gearbox dies obviously. It gets stuck in N.
I'll try it more carefully this evening, on raw eggs 😉
To be honest the difference between road tires and supercar tires on this car is underwhelming. I actually feel more confident with the road tires.
Are you sure you are pressing the clutch completely? You can check that in your pedal configuration, because if you're not than obviously the gearbox won't be happy.
Just did a few laps.
15 min. training, same track and conditions: no failure
twice the special event: no failure
then I torture the gearbox (shift in 1st at 200 km/h) a while: no failure
30 min.
Free race: failure at lap 8!!
I noticed that three times before, the downshift was delayed. Probably downshifted too early. There's no sound, no display. After half a second, the gear is there.
There seems to be a damage model active for the gearbox. Even though you can torture it endlessly, and immediatly it can still die.
I'll keep an eye on it and test other car and track combinations.
I tried to do a race weekend with the Honda S2000. I even had automatic gearbox activated because I had these problems earlier. Nevertheless, didn't work. The game wanted me to shift myself. Alright, I did that. Without the clutch then. I shifted very carefully and was careful with the throttle and got through qualifying. But during the main race, it always happened. Sometimes on the last lap, which was quite frustrating. I didn't think I did something different when it happened. Seemed random to me.
Sometimes it even happened when shifting carefully into second at the very start of the race. I think this can't be right. I actually gave up the weekend because it eventually always happened, and did one with the Golf, because automatic gearbox works with that one. ^^
By the way, I got 22000$ for 6th place after qualifying, and then only 300$ for finishing 1st place. That also can't be right... xD
With Alfa 75 same problem.
Driver problems (moza) possible. I will test it. However, the errors always occur after a few laps. Not at the start, and upon restarting, the failure ist gone. Not all cars are affected. This doesn't indicate a problem with hardware or drivers.
Driving style unlikely but maybe. nevertheless it is strange that you can torture the gearbox for laps without damage.
Also kunos could give us more information about the damage modell and some indications in the HUD
The more recent the car, the more forgiving gearboxes have become. If you could try one of the older cars like Ford Cosworth, Alfa 75, Lancia Delta, stuff like that, that would be more helpful, as they don't have protection on downshifts like the Evora has.
So far affected: Lancia Delta, Alfa 75
I assume a few early shiftdowns as a result gear blocks for a moment.
Otherwise the gearbox can bei tortured without any issue.
You have to be very careful with these cars. Most likely you just didn't work the clutch correctly a couple of times. Sometimes it's enough to release the pedal at the wrong time or not spin it up for a lower gear, and the gearbox will fly off right away. Start releasing the pedal only after the gearbox clicks and may the force be with you! :-)
I noticed in the license challenges there are some where automatic gearbox works and some where it doesn't. I thought that's most likely part of the challenge and totally fine. But then in the third one (hypercars?) I cannot even get going. I can't shift into gear 1. Doesn't matter if I try with clutch or without. The settings don't matter. I again tried with and without automatic clutch. Automatic start clutch or whatever it's called also doesn't matter. Has anyone had the same issue there?
Clutch doesn't seem to work in general for me. I set it to automatic clutch off because I wanted do it all manually, and it still does it automatically. I just need to shift. Clutch doesn't do anything (yes, it is assigned).
Am I misunderstanding something horribly here or what is going on?
