Drivers licence challenges on controller too hard!
Cars with no TC such as the porch on the second last race just want to spin out on controller! and the lap times set to beat are beyond a joke!

Don't give up, just keep trying, they are indeed possible to beat with a game controller
3 stars is meant to be properly hard to accomplish.

You'll get it. Keep trying it took me at least 40 tries and during this time it's totally made me a better driver with all no TC cars now 👍

Some chronos are impossible to achieve with a correctly set FOV.
If you increase the FOV to 75 or more, then the turns, the curves, are more stretched and it goes more smoothly, but with an FOV of 54, it's almost impossible to get 2 stars and never 3
I wish good luck to amateur Sunday drivers.

You will be sorry soon, good luck my man..
im streaming the licence tests right now. most of them first try 1-2 star pass. it is realy not that hard. all you need is TRACK KNOWLEDGE :)

I just checked my comments on the FOV, and on YouTube there is a guy who gets 3 stars without any problem.
Yes, but its FOV is 87!
I'll be curious to see it with a FOV of 54!
Give it a try and you will see the difference.
i managed to get all licisens, many game reboots and some repeats related to connection lost. hard is none of them, in rain you just have to stay slow :D
im a rookie, didnt needed mutch attempts....

for 3 stars you realy have to be a skilled person!

I found my issue: For whatever reason I have not recognized the 'stability control' assist in the assists section, it was on 100% and this just makes the car behave a bit unpredictable and prevents me from really pushing. I switched that completely off and the controls were more responsive, less understeery and also I can now brake much harder and later.

I finally won the SP-05 three stars rather easily after wasting about 10 hours prior to that always wondering why I'm so slow. No matter what I tried, I simply could not push as hard as I was used to and wtaching YT videos of these guys doing that challenge and seeing what they did there was a miracle to me, braking later and harder, then slamming the car into the corner quickly but stable... did not work with stability control for me, no without that it's all working.

Another side effect is that I have now more feel for the car, the game is more fun.

I haven't given up with the default FOV but I did search settings after seeing your posts and FOV seems to be nowhere. Not in video or graphics and not in gameplay options. Is that setting supposed to be available to non-VR players?

Edit: Never mind. I found this thread below which mentions having to first start a race or practice (I assume it's the same for license tests) and then open settings.

I got my three stars at Brands Hatch full lap with FOV 45 btw and using a gamepad (Flydigi Vader 4 Pro). I don't think the FOV is the main problem here, I've also seen some guys doing these challenges with 'regular' FOVs and they made it in no time (but using fancy racing wheels of course).

But, those having issues with a gamepad, try messing with the stability control setting, that made a huge difference for me (10 hours of failing -> success after some few attempts).

Fancy racing wheels - that must have been the reason for their relative effortlessness. I would never resort to that unless I knew nobody could 3-star the hardest of the full lap tests in a not-insane number of attempts on controller without it. I think the license tests should employ one fixed setup for each. I mean if Kunos is going to bother mandating a specific vehicle for each carefully curated driving skill test then one fixed setup would be more in keeping with the spirit of such challenges. Not complaining though.

Yes, you have to start the race and do Escape.
Then you access the “view settings” and that’s where you can adjust the FOV.
The higher the FOV, the easier it is.
Of course, it distorts the view but some people use it to get 3 stars.
Guys it is all feasible on gamepad whatever FOV you feel comfortable with. Note though that 3 stars assume you know how to drive on a gamepad without soft-assists. I think you all expect to beat that after spending only a few hours on the game, that should just never be the case, if anything, some 3 stars are still too easy.

If you want 3 stars, practice and get good.
