Assetto Corsa EVO

No Thrustmaster support?
On the wheel setup guide it covers almost every company except TM. Hopefully my wheel still works well(t300). I need to upgrade it anyways but I guess I'll have to do it sooner than later.

AC family is pretty good of supporting pretty much everything, its up to brands to update their own software too it just takes time

Most racing games are like this on launch day ... telemetry data out of the gate is just as vital as steering wheel

not long to go to see what works and what doesnt
cause theres alot of speculation going on with every peripherial even to controller as the Info provided is not too detailed
Yea Idk if I want to sink a grand into sim racing or something else. Really what killed it for me is GT sport. GTS is done so well for online racing everything else felt bad, and it is tbh. No PC sim minus maybe iracing has systems in place to make sure clean, good racing happens. With GT sport there is enough people to grind rating and safety score where it felt fun and they changed the weekly races every week(obv). And then the GT world events where you could signup to race IRL whatever, I knew I'd never make it anywhere close to the top but it was loads of fun. Yea there's leagues and ish on PC but with GTS its all there, no extra ish. Get there on time and Queue up.

With PC it seems like I'm fiddling with settings and trying to get everything setup and then the cars don't turn so I'm finding a tune, always fighting something. It's just too much, I want to race, not get an engineering degree. I still think ACC is dogwater, I have yet to vibe with that game. It started with GTR and Race 07, AC came out and I fell in love and got a wheel, got serious and ACC killed it for me. Kind of funny.

Gaming in general this past year has been such a let down. And for the gaming community to just take it laying down. I used to think gamers as a majority were smart, you know being a gamer, but now I know better. Most are shoe size IQ, sunken cost fallacy suffering, simpletons. And just knowing how corps act, its going to get way worse. They make too much money failing, its silly. But game devs don't make money on game sales, they make 70% of their profit from MTX. So you can make this amazing product and barely break even or you can make horse armor and buy mcmansions on zillow, its not going to be a hard choice for devs. Why do you think they are all switching to Unreal engine? Laziness, not desire to create amazing IPs. I truly hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Sorry for the debbie downer reply lol. ACE leaving UE gave me hope for the game. We shall see in a couple days.

Perhaps, but I doubt you would save money compared with buying a consumer DD wheel.

I mean 150 bucks is for the motor sounds like quite a lot compared with, say, 500 bucks for a complete finished product with a case, steering wheel, pedals and a table clamp.

There is the 'open sim wheel' project too.

But much of the magic of DD wheels lies in the software side. Think about how much Moza have reportedly improved their ffb feel - that's mostly via software.

It's like electronic hobbyists have glued strain gauges to their bike cranks and created their own power meter and they get some data and it's a fun project and perhaps people who see the price of a strain gauge and the price of a retail crank based power meter think they can do the same and it'll be cheaper - but it rarely is and the devil is in the details and these power meters usually have issues with accuracy.

Obviously if you're into electronics it'd be really fun to do (and without people like this trying stuff we wouldn't have DD wheels in the first place) but it's not likely to be a cheap way of getting a setup for those of us who are primarily interested in playing a game not tweaking drivers and messing with a soldering iron.

I think at least one of the chinese DD wheel effectively took the open source DD wheel stuff as a starter?
And its like 10-20 dollars for the motor the total is 150(and thats like max), and for me it would be way less as I already have a PSU, getting parts 3d printed and the encoder and usb controller thing is what costs the most but I've seen it done for less than a hundo. Check it out its actually quite cool:

They have drivers and everything you need to DIY. Pretty interesting to say the least.
They probably have custom wheel setup. So I'm not worried that much.

Is this a need for speed title? IF a wheel aint´supported day one in a sim racing game is the day we can loose hope in everything.

Like I said before, and this also is for non TM wheels, any wheel not listed (and there was A LOT), there will be a generic wheel FFB profile. All sims have it. But like ACC would detect which wheel rim I was using (open wheel or 599 evo rim) and bind the buttons accordingly. Sometimes it was good, sometimes it was terrible, either way I didn't have to bind everything off the rip. So I think we will have to just bind our buttons to whatever and the FFb will be fine. What gives us FFB isn't all the game, the wheel manu drivers also have to do with it.

Hence the DIY hoverboard guys using some random FFB called FFB beast and it works with all the games. Zero sim games have support for DIY 15nm wheels, but I've seen them used in every sim on the PC market. I did a little research after the fact and have sorted out we will be fine. Peep the DIY wheel linked below, so cool and to make a 15nm wheel for >150 bucks sounds pretty darn good.

*DIY 15nm DD using hoverbaord motor: https://ffbeast.github.io/docs/en/wheel.html

TLDR: Our wheels will work, we will have to bind all the keys, it might not be perfect but it will work.

It detects my TS-XW racer and it runs very well, great FFB. I just cant get my H shifter to work on this.

Only 1 LG wheel also so not just Thrustmaster, my G25 works fine after assigning all the axis and buttons as required.
I'm playing with Thrustmaster TX Racing Wheel, with no problem. The game recognize this wheel, and TH8A shifter Too. The only thing a i need to do, set key bindings, and adjust FB settings.
I'm using Trustmaster it works fine no problems at all.

My t300 works fine. Now I just have to tinker with it and figure out what feels good(and invert the pedals). Also my T300 now makes a weird buzzing noise even with the fan off so its probably time to a new wheel:(
