Don't give people false impressions champion...
I heard about overheating on the R9, I don't know if it's a problem, if it's fixable, if it's fixed with the V2 but apparently, some have FFB cuts with that.
The eco-system is superb, very numerous and qualitative steering wheel range, shifters, handbrake... at the top, fantastic QR.
It's open and they don't racket like Fanatec if you want to buy a steering wheel (and have FFB) from another brand, for drifting for example.
The feeling is really very good, in my experience better than what I've tested at Fanatec or Logitech, the software is the best I've come across.
I haven't had the opportunity to test the Thrustmaster or Conspit DDs and the other brands are in my opinion too expensive or with too limited eco-systems, I can't wait to see the final proposal from Simlab however, if they manage a range of wheels well with a good quality-price ratio, it can make sparks fly because the rest is remarkable...
I had Fanatec with belts, I think it was their good old days, they seem outdated, the sim racing discord that I frequent doesn't make me want to go back at all, in fact particularly because of the catastrophic technical support and the software updated far too slowly.
Two years ago, I placed a large order with Fanatec, I made the payment, money withdrawn immediately then no news for a week, elements of my order became "pending" AFTER the order!
I contacted them, no response for four days... I cancelled my order, went to Moza and since unpacking, discovering the extreme quality of the products and the feeling, I have been in continuous delight since.
Little chance that I will change brands.
This RSV2, its soft carbon paddles, I regularly think about getting married with...
Yes, a cockpit is necessary and unfortunately often quite expensive.
Simlab works wonders.
In my area in Europe, manufacturers of aluminum profiles offer interesting kits, I don't know if it's possible for you.
If you have the opportunity, test the different seats, avoid those that recline like in a car, their flexibility spoils everything, also check the quality of the brake support plate, often the Achilles heels of the chassis.
Finally, the most important, take your time and enjoy it.
cockpit is not necessary at all, I have a desktop / gaming chair setup with load cell pedals against wall and its rock solid and comfortable, you just have to do it right, I have a bracket for my pedals and my desktop mount is from cammus and its incredibly secure, zero flex with the C5.
SimXperience is pretty with quick support for most major sims, and this is easily the #1 sim for this year, if not many more years to come.
As long as KUNOS provides the telemetry data, I think that every major wheel and accessories manufacturer will make it their top priority to have their products work with AC Evo ASAP.
Simxperience is not very common here, I guess because of US/EU customs fees.
The Full Analytics Suite looks great, very good idea.
Is the QR a D1 Spec?
Otherwise yes ACE risks being a reference for players and DD brands for a long time, that's all I wish for them in any case.
